Placement fee sa OFWs, pinatitigil

PINATITIGIL ng mga senador ang pangongolekta ng placement fee mula sa mga Filipino na nagnanais na makapagtrabaho sa ibang bansa.

Ayon kay Senate Majority leader Joel Villanueva, dapat pairalin na sa lahat ng OFWs ang patakaran ng Japan na ‘no charging of placement fee’.

Paliwanag pa ni Villanueva, sa ilalim ng Migrant workers and Overseas Filipino Act, maliwanag na wala dapat kinokolektang fees tulad ng government, placement, introduction at assistant fees.

Sang-ayon naman dito si Senate Minority leader Koko Pimentel at sinabing dapat ang mga foreign employer ang dapat kolektahan ng recruitment agencies ng placement fees.

Ito ay dahil sila ang makikinabang sa magiging serbisyo ng mga papasok na OFWs.

Nauna nang sinabi ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na sa pagbiyahe nila ng Pangulo sa Japan ay nadiskubre nila na mayroong mga trainees sa ilalim ng Technical Internship program sa nasabing bansa partikular sa skilled workers na hindi dapat pinagbabayad ng placement fees subalit mayroon pa rin naniningil dito. BI, pag-aaralan ang mga records at kaso ng ‘crypto scam’ trafficking victims

PAG-AARALAN ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang records ng walong repatriated Filipinos na nabiktima ng cryptocurrency scammers.

Sinabi ni Commissioner Norman Tansingco na inatasan niya ang Travel Control and Enforcement ng Bureau of Immigration na imbestigahan ang kaso ng mga biktimang ito na dumating sa bansa noong Lunes ng gabi sa pamamagitan ng flight ng isang airline mula Singapore.

Ang grupo, na binubuo ng apat na lalaki at apat na babae, ay lumipad mula Dubai upang magtrabaho sa Thailand ngunit kalaunan ay dinala sa Myanmar.

Ang isa sa kanila ay umalis bilang isang rehistradong Overseas Filipino Worker sa Dubai noong 2019, habang ang tatlo naman ay umalis bilang mga turista noong 2016, 2019, at 2021 upang bisitahin ang mga kapamilya ngunit hindi na bumalik mula noon.

Ang mga Pilipinong na-recruit ay kinakailangang bumuo ng mga relasyon sa kanilang mga target sa pamamagitan ng social media, at hikayatin silang mamuhunan sa isang pseudo-crypto account.

Ang mga ganitong kaso ay iniulat na tumatakbo sa Myanmar, Laos, at Cambodia.

Kaugnay niyan, pinaalalahanan ni Tansingco ang mga Pinoy sa Pilipinas at sa labas ng bansa na maging maingat sa mga alok na trabaho online at tiyaking legal silang makakakuha ng trabaho. (Daris Jose)

Pag-angkat ng 440-K MT ng asukal, aprubado na ng SRA Board

INAPRUBAHAN ng Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Board ang plano sa pag-aangkat ng 440,000 metric tons ng refined sugar.

Layon nito na palakihin ang supply at patatagin ang mga presyo ng sweetener ngayong taon.

Inihayag ni Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Board member-planters’ representative Pablo Luis Azcona na inaaprubahan ito sa ginawang pulong ng Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Board.

Nang tanungin tungkol sa Sugar Order, sinabi niya na ito ay para sa publikasyon at ilalabas ng Office of the President.

Aniya, kahit inaprubahan at nilagdaan na ito ng Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Board, kailangan pa rin itong dadaan sa Malakanyang para sa final issuance.

Sa kabuuang halaga, sinabi ni Azcona na 200,000 MT ang ilalaan para sa mga end-user habang 240,000 MT ang itatakda bilang dalawang buwang buffer stock.

PATAY ang isang 33-anyos na dalaga nang pagbabarilin ng hindi pa nakikilalang salarin sa loob ng Manila North Cemetery habang sugatan din ang kasamahan nito, Martes ng hapon.

Kinilala ang nasawi na si Marivic Quiso y Reyes, alyas Bechay, ng 78 Maria Clara St., Banawe,Quezon City.

Inoobserbahan naman sa Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital ang kasamahang sugatan na si Judy Ann Francisco y Zapata,28,waitress at residente naman sa loob ng MNC.

Sa ulat ni Manila Police District (MPD)-Homicide Chief, PCpt Dennis Turla, nakaupo lamang ang dalawang biktima sa may 29th Street ng nasabing sementeryo nang dumating ang suspek at armado ng baril saka pinagbabaril si Reyes na naging dahilan ng agaran nitong pagkamatay.

Habang tinamaan din ng bala si Zapata na pinagtulungang isugod sa pagamutan ng mga bystanders.

Patuloy ang isinasagawang follow up operation ng pulisya para sa ikadarakip ng lalaking suspek na nakasuot ng all black na cap,jacket ,short pants at naka-tsinelas.

Dahil tumutulong ang anak at ‘di nanloloko: VILMA, naging emosyonal nang matanong sa pinagdaraanan ni LUIS

ISANG dakilang ina kaya hindi maaaring hindi ipagtanggol ni Ms. Vilma Santos ang kanyang anak na si Luis Manzano na nasasangkot ngayon sa isang kontrobersiya sa negosyo.

Kaya naman naging emosyonal si Ate Vi sa pagtatanggol kay Luis tungkol sa mga nagrereklamong nagpasok ng puhunan sa Flex Fuel Petroleum Corporation.

Naganap ito sa katatapos lamang na guesting ni Ate Vi sa ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.’

“Bilang ina, gaano kasakit ngayon ang maranasan na may pinagdadaanan ang iyong anak na si Luis,” ang tanong ni Boy Abunda sa Star For All Seasons.

“I’m sorry Tito Boy,” at napaiyak na agad si Ate Vi kaya hindi agad nakasagot.

“You will be fine anak, maraming nagdarasal sa ‘yo. The truth will prevail. Alam ng mga tao ‘yan, tumutulong ka anak, hindi ka nanloloko. I love you,” sinabi pa ni Ate Vi kasama ang pamoso niyang pagbati palagi kay Luis na, “I love you, Lucky!.”

Naunang napabalita na isinilbi na ng mga tauhan ng National Bureau of Investigation ang subpoena sa bahay ni Luis sa Taguig City.

Ito ay tungkol sa reklamong estafa na inihain ng nasa apat-napung investors laban sa kanya at iba pang personalidad na affiliated sa oil firm.

Itinanggi ng FlexFuel ang mga akusasyon na sangkot sila sa investment scam pero aminado silang nakaranas sila ng pagkalugi dahil sa mga mga dahilang “beyond their control” tulad ng coronavirus pandemic.

Maging si Luis ay iginiit na walang siyang kinalaman sa pamamalakad ng FlexFuel at nawalan rin umano siya ng pera.

In fairness, ewan ko ba, may “chemistry” sina Arman at Jackileou, at birong-totoo nga ni Jackielou kay Arman, huwag siyang tatawaging “Tita” kundi Jackie na lang, puwede naman raw siyang maging cougar for that night.

And a trip down memory lane ang song number ni Jackielou na ‘You Don’t Own Me’ na cover ng original song ni Lesley Gore.

Mahuhusay rin ang mga male singers na guest ni Arman, bongga ang blending ng kanilang mga boses.

Si Sheila na bestfriend ni Arman, plakado ang pagkanta ng duet nila ni Arman ng ‘Beauty And The Beast’. Husay!

At si Mitch, walang kupas ang husay, tunay na music icon.

And speaking of icon, nanood si Mr. Ricky Lee sa concert ni Arman. Of course, alam nating lahat na National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts.

PCO, bibigyan ng bagong bihis, daragdagan ng mga bagong mukha

BIBIGYAN ng bagong bihis at daragdagan ng mga bagong mukha ang Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Ito’y matapos na tintahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang Executive Order (EO) No. 16, inaprubahan ang reorganization ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) para pagsama-samahin ang communications activities nito at tiyakin na episyente o epektibo ang serbisyong ibinibigay nito sa publiko.

“EO No. 16 supplements EO No. 11 (s 2022) signed by the President last December 29, 2022, which streamlined the administrative structure of the Office of the President (OP) and renamed the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) to PCO,” ayon sa ulat.

Ang aayusin na PCO ay paumunuan pa rin ng Kalihim na susuportahan naman ng limang (5) Undersecretaries, (14) Assistant Secretaries, at isang (1) Assistant Secretary na direktang magre-report sa PCO Secretary.

Pangungunahan ng limang Undersecretaries ang functional areas sa aayusing PCO gaya ng Traditional Media and External Affairs; Digital Media Services; Content Production; Broadcast Production; at Operations, Administration and Finance.

Inatasan naman ang PCO na makipagtulungan sa Presidential Adviser for Creative Communications sa mga bagay na may kinalaman sa “communications at information dissemination.”

“EO No. 16 also amends or modifies the relevant provisions of EO No. 2 (s 2022), which resulted in some Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) being placed under the OP,” ayon pa rin sa ulat.

Ang GOCCs gaya ng People’s Television Network, Inc., APO Production Unit, Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, at National Printing Office ay ire-reattached sa PCO kung saan ang mangangasiwa ay ang isang Assistant Secretary.

Samantala, ang iba pang communications agencies gaya ng Presidential Broadcast Service-Bureau of Broadcast Services; Bureau of Communication Services; News and Information Bureau; Freedom of Information-Program Management Office; Philippine Information Agency; and the Presidential Broadcast Staff-Radio Television Malacañang ay ilalagay sa ilalim ng “direct control at supervision” ng PCO, ayon sa EO.

Ang EO No. 16 ay nilagdaan ng Pangulo, kamakalawa, Pebrero 13, 2023, kagyat na magiging epektibo kapag nailathala na sa Official Gazette. (Daris Jose)

AGAD na nilinaw ng aktres at TV host na si Kris Aquino kung ano na ang namamagitang relasyon sa kanila ni Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.

Sa kanyang comment sa Instagram post ni Mark noong Miyerkules, ipinagdiinan ni Kris na hindi sila, “I appreciate all your effort (through the years) BUT please clarify that we agreed the best foundation for any & all relationships is FRIENDSHIP.”

Dagdag pa ng mommy nina Josh at Bimby, “I know I state with 100% accuracy, you’re my best male friend.”

Muli ngàng pumunta ng Amerika si Mark para umabot sa 52nd birthday ni Kris noong February 14, na kasabay din ng Araw ng mga Puso.

“It may have taken more than 7k miles to be with you, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Although we have been apart, now that we’re together fills my heart,” pahayag ng vice governor.

Kasama ang tatlong heart emojis sa kanyang Twitter post, ang “Happy Birthday to you and Happy Valentine’s Day to us!”

Sa post naman ni Kris noong Pebrero 13 na kung saan nag-update siya sa kanyang kalusugan.

May binanggit din ang isang misteryosong lalaki bilang kanyang support system kasama ang pamilya, mga kaibigan, at mga kasama sa Amerika.

“You need to be a very determined man of your word to fly 13 hours each way to spend a few days with me on my birthday,” sabi pa ng Queen of All Media.

Unang na-link romantically sina Kris at Mark noong 2019, nang sumagot ito sa imbitasyon ng aktres sa single men, aged 41-55, na i-add siya sa personal Facebook account bilang kaibigan.

Sa pagsisimula ng taon, nambulaga ang bise gobernador nang mag-post ito ng larawan na magkasama noong New Year’s Day sa California.

Bumisita nga si Mark kay Kris para kumustahin ang kalagayan nito habang patuloy na nagpapagamot sa kanyang multiple autoimmune diseases, at doon nagsimula ang haka-hakang may namumuong relasyon na sila.

PBBM, pinayagan ang adopsyon ng hybrid rice para palakasin ang pag-ani ng pananim

PINAYAGAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pag-adopt sa hybrid rice bilang “better alternative” sa inbred variety para itaas ang crop production.

Ito’y makaraang makipagulong si Pangulong Marcos sa SL Agritech Corporation (SLAC), kung saan ang tumayong kinatawan ay si SLAC chairman at chief executive officer (CEO) Henry Lim Bon Liong, at mga magsasaka mula sa Central Luzon para tugunan ang mga hamon na kinahaharap ng industriya ng bigas.

Sa isang pulong sa Malakanyang, ang SLAC, isang pribadong kumpanya na may kaugnayan sa “research, development, production, at distribution” ng hybrid rice seeds at premium quality rice, ay inirekumenda ang conversion ng rice farming areas para sa certified seeds (CS) para sa hybrid seeds.

Ang panukala ng SLAC ay “to convert 1.90 million hectares target areas planted with CS to hybrid seeds in four years.”

Sinabi naman ni Pangulong Marcos na kanyang ipatutupad ang programa para i-promote ang nasabing pagpapalit sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng subsidiya at gawing madali ang pagpapautang sa mga magsasaka.

Maliban sa kanyang pangako na mas palakasin pa ang financial support sa mga local farmers sa pamamagitan ng loan financing program, nangako ang Pangulo na i-apply ang “best practices” na ginawa ng Central Luzon farmers sa ibang lugar sa bansa.

“We would like to apply kung ano ‘yung ginagawa ninyo dito sa Central Luzon… so we can apply sa ibang areas,” ayon sa Pangulo. (Daris Jose)
