“I just realized at some point that, you know, Filipino fans are amazing. They look up to the artist and really try to, as a role model.
“I didn’t realize I was a role model until much later in my career. And when I found out that I was a role model, that’s when everything changed and I said ‘Wait, I need to be much more careful about the roles I choose, I need to be much more careful about what I say in public, what I wear.’
“I became very conscious of the example I was giving to the public,” pahayag ni Nanette na ngayon ay Mrs. Po na bilang asawa siya ng milyonaryong negosyanteng si Chris Po.
Pagpapatuloy pa ni Nanette.
“I remember I was on a float, I think it was going down Roxas Boulevard and I was on a float, and I was looking down and you had mga lola, you had mga apo.
“They were all there and they were looking up, and they couldn’t I think separate me from the character. And therefore I had to very conscious of how I behave, not only to protect the Darna image but also to protect what they thought was how do you behave in the world.
“I wanted to be careful that I was modelling the behavior that I want to see in the world, rather than talk about things that were very frivolous,” na ayon pa kay Nanette ay bitbit niya hanggang sa ngayon.
“Even to this day, I’m very careful about the messaging I put out in the world.”

“But once you have found that guiding star of yours, I think okay na yun, you just have to do your best and everything will follow,” pahayag ni Dindo.
“Basically, na-i-inspire ako ‘pag may mga gusto akong tulungan, or baguhin or… like yung song ko na Makinig Ka, sabi ko I need to release this song, because I know na makakatulong ‘to sa bayan natin para ma-inspire sila.
“I think so, yeah, totoo naman!
