2 OFW INARESTO SA PAMEMEKE NG KANILANG EDAD

NASABAT ng mga opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Clark International Airport (CIA) ang dalawang Overseas Filipino Workers na patungo sana ng Jeddah dahil sa pamemeke ng kanilang edad.

 

 

Sa ulat kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morent nina  Travel Control and Enforcement Unit officers Maria Clarissa Bartolome at  Kaypee Enebrad, pansamantalang hindi pinangalanan ang dalawang babae, pero galing sila sa Cotabato kung saan sinabi ng mga ito na 26 at 27 years old na sila at nakatakdang patungo sa Saudi Arabia via Qatar Airways bilang mga Household Service Workers (HSWs).

 

 

Pero nang interbiyuhin ang mga ito, ay hindi nagkatugma ang kanilang mga sinabi sa kanilang personal details

 

 

“It was later confirmed that they have misrepresented their age, and they admitted that their documents were merely processed for them by their recruiter,” ayon kay Morente.

 

 

Matatandaan na ang minimum age sa deployment ng HSWs ay 23 years old.

 

 

“These human traffickers are victimizing the youth by enticing them to agree to such schemes,” ayon kay  Morente.  “We have turned over their cases to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking for further investigation, to be able to file cases, arrest and jail these recruiters.  Our kababayan end up in vulnerable situations abroad because of this scheme.  These recruiters are not stopping despite the pandemic, and this modus should be curbed immediately,” dagdag pa nito. US hurdler nabasag ang world record sa 400-m

Nabasag ni American hurdler Sydney McLaughlin ang 400 meters hurdles world record sa oras na 51.90 seconds sa finals ng US Olympic athletics trials.

 

 

Nahigitan ng 21-anyos na si McLaughlin ang record na hawak ni Rio Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad na mayroong 52.16.

 

 

Pinasalamatan nito ang kaniyang bagong coach na si Bob Kersee.

 

 

Pumangalawa sa puwesto ang 31-anyos na si Muhammad na mayroong record na 52.42 at pangatlo naman si Anna Cockrell, 23 anyos na maryoong oras na 53.70.

‘Honest mistake’ – Mayor Abby

Humingi ng paumanhin kahapon si Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay kaugnay sa viral video ng isang volunteer nurse na hindi naiturok ang lamang COVID-19 vaccine sa isang indibidwal.

 

 

Ani Mayor Abby, isang honest mistake ang nangyari na agad namang naitama.

 

 

“We acknowledge the video, it was a human error on the part of the volunteer nurse. It happened last June 25. June 26, the video was shown to us na hindi po siya (indibiduwal) nabakunahan, we apologize to the public [for this],” ani Binay.

 

 

Makikita sa nag-viral na video na ang isang health worker ay nagturok sa braso ng isang vaccine recipient na hindi naman itinulak ang plunger,kaya naiwan pa ang laman sa syringe.

 

 

Kasabay nito, umapela na rin ang alkalde ng pang-unawa at nakiusap na huwag nang i-bash ang volunteer nurse at huwag sirain ang ginagawang COVID-19 vaccination program ng pamahalaan.

 

 

“Maawa po tayo sa nurse, kusang-loob po siya naglaan ng kanyang oras, tao lang po, napapagod, naitama naman agad ang pagkakamali. Humihingi rin siya ng tawad and we are giving an assurance na hindi na uli mangyayari ito,” giit ni Mayor Abby.

 

 

Iginiit niya sa ipinaskil sa facebook page ng makati City government na isang insidente ng human error lamang ang nasabing pangyayari. (Daris Jose)

Keanu Reeves Returns As The Sharp-Suited Assassin In ‘John Wick 4′, Teaser Image Reveals

KEANU Reeves will return as the sharp-suited assassin, this time punching and shooting his way through the criminal underworld in Berlin, Paris, Japan, and then back to the franchise’s home base of New York City.

 

 

A new teaser image posted by actor Shamier Anderson on Instagram has confirmed that cameras are now rolling on John Wick: Chapter 4, with less than eleven months to go until the action sequel hits theaters.

 

 

Chad Stahelski is returning to direct, having co-helmed the first installment with David Leitch before flying solo on the second and third outings, although regular scribe Derek Kolstad isn’t involved this time around, with scripting duties falling to Army of the Dead‘s Shay Hatten and American Assassin‘s Michael Finch.

 

 

According to collider.com, the series started off relatively modestly, with John Wick reaffirming Reeves’ status as one of modern cinema’s top tier action heroes, earning $88 million at the box office in the process.

 

 

However, strong word-of-mouth and hugely positive buzz saw the sequel almost double that total by bringing in $171 million, and the last outing did the same again after ending its theatrical run with $326 million, taking it into full-blown blockbuster territory.

 

 

We don’t know anything about the latest chapter just yet in terms of plot details, but based on the trajectory of John Wick so far, it would be safe to assume that we’ll be finding out even more about the complex mythology that defines the secret network of killers which spans the entire globe, with lashings of intricate hand-to-hand combat and plenty of stylish gunplay thrown in for good measure.

 

 

Franchise veteran Ian McShane is confirmed to return as Winston, while Laurence Fishburne will be reprising his role from Chapter 3 – Parabellum as the Bowery King.

 

 

New additions include Shamier Anderson, who was recently seen in claustrophobic Netflix sci-fi Stowaway, and he’ll be joined by Rina Sawayama and Bill Skarsgård, with the veteran badassery being provided by the always-reliable Hiroyuki Sanada and martial arts legend Donnie Yen. 

 

 

John Wick: Chapter 4 is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski with Reeves and Louise Rosner as executive producers.

 

 

Production is scheduled to begin this summer in France, Germany, and Japan.    Coming to theaters on May 27, 2022.

Cardinal Advincula, ikinagalak ang mainit na pagtanggap ng religious communities

Ikinagalak ng bagong talagang arsobispo ng Archdiocese of Manila ang mainit na pagtanggap ng religious communities.

 

 

Tiniyak ni Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula na bilang pastol ng arkidiyosesis sa mga relihiyoso at relihiyosa ang buong puso at tapat na paglilingkod sa pagpapalago ng bokasyon at pagpapastol sa kawan ng Panginoon.

 

 

“My role is to help and lead you in fulfilling your vocation and ministry. As your shepherd, Christ has called me to “feed” you and “to lead you to the richest pastures,” bahagi ng pagninilay ni Cardinal Advincula.

 

 

Naramdaman ni Cardinal Advincula ang mainit na pagtanggap ng iba’t ibang religious communities’ ng arkidiyosesis na dumalo sa isinagawang ‘Solemn Vespers’ noong Hunyo 26 ng hapon sa Manila Cathedral.

 

 

Kinilala rin ng arsobispo ang mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ng religious men and women sa pagpapalaganap ng turo ng simbahan sa bawat komunidad katuwang ang mga diocesan priests’ ng arkidiyosesis.

 

 

“All of us are heralds or living instruments of God’s mercy to one another. Such is our saving mission which Christ has entrusted to the Church,” ani ng Cardinal.

 

Una nang sinabi ni Manila Archbishop Emeritus Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales na ang mga relihiyoso at relihiyosa na narito sa Maynila ay katuwang ng simbahan sa pagpapalaganap ng kabutihan, kabanalan at pagmamahal.

 

 

Binigyang diin ni Cardinal Advincula ang kahalagahan ng pananalangin at kahandaang makinig upang higit na magampanan ang misyon ng simbahan sa bawat mananampalataya.

Nauna nang tiniyak ng religious communities sa bagong arsobispo ng Maynila ang pakikipagtulungan at pakikiisa sa misyon ng simbahang katolika lalo’t ipinagdiriwang ngayng taon ang 500 Years of Christianity sa paksang ‘Gifted to Give.”

99,600 doses ng Moderna vaccine ibibigay sa Overseas Filipino workers at seafarers- Galvez

MAY kabuuang 99,600 doses ng Moderna vaccine ang dumating sa bansa kahapon, Hunyo 29.

 

Ang mga bakunang ito ay ibibiigay naman sa Overseas Filipino Workers at Seafarers.

 

“Ibibigay namin ‘to sa mga OFWs at seafarers na pinangakuan natin at sa ating mga frontliners na kailangang kailangan po, ‘yong different government employees po natin,” ayon kay vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. sa Talk to the People ni Pangulong RodrigoRoa Duterte, Lunes ng gabi.

 

Ito ang second batch ng Moderna vaccine doses na darating sa bansa ngayong buwan.

 

Nito lamang nakaraang linggo ay lumapag sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 ang 250,000 Moderna vaccine doses.

 

Sa 249,600 doses, 150,000 ang binili ng gobyerno habang ang 99,600 naman ay binili ng pribadong sektor.

 

Sinabi pa ni Galvez na ang COVID-19 vaccines na darating sa bansa sa susunod na buwan ay 5.5 million Sinovac doses; 1.17 million AstraZeneca doses; 250,800 Moderna doses; at 500,000 Pfizer doses.

 

Hangad naman ng National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) na makamit ang 8 hanggang 10 milyong katao na mabakunahan sa susunod na buwan kapag ang suplay ng COVID-19 jabs ay sapat.

 

Sa kabilang dako, ipinakita rin ni Galvez ang mataas na bilang ng doses na idineliver mula sa Sinovac vaccines.

 

“For the first quarter of 2021, 2 million doses of Sinovac vaccines were delivered while 525,600 AstraZeneca vaccines arrived in the country.

 

 

In the second quarter, a total of 14,929,870 vaccines were delivered. Of which, 10 million from Sinovac, 2,469,870 from Pfizer, 2,030,400 from AstraZeneca, 249,600 from Moderna, and 180,000 from Sputnik V,” ayon kay Galvez. (Bishop Jesus “Jemba” M. Basco)

Nahaharap ngayon sa pagsubok ang Gilas Pilipinas sa pagsabak nila sa FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament sa Belgrade, Serbia dahil sa pagkakaroon ng injury ni Dwight Ramos.

 

 

Sinabi ni Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tab Baldwin na mayroong groin strain injur si Ramos na kaniyang natamo sa third window ng FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers.

 

 

Umaasa pa si Baldwin na gagaling kaagad ang injury ni Ramos para makahabol sa paglalaro.

 

 

Ilan din sa mga players na kuwestiyonable rin sa paglalaro ay si naturalized center Ange Kouame na mayroong knee contusion at Carl Tamayo na nagtamo ng ankle sprain at ito ay nakuha noong FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

Inanunsyo ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) ang mga rekomendasyon para sa panibagong quarantine classifications sa lingguhang Talk to the People Address ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngayong Lunes.

 

 

Epektibo ang mga bagong klasipikasyon simula ika-1 hanggang ika-31 ng Hulyo.

Kanina lang nang irekomenda ng OCTA Research Group na palawigin lang ang GCQ sa Metro Manila at mga kalapit na probinsya sa Hulyo, bagay na dapat daw ipatupad para maiwasan ang “rebound surge.”

 

 

Ilang mahahalagang updates sa COVID-19 situation ng bansa:

 

  • Lumagpas naman na sa halos 10.1 milyon ang nababakunahan laban sa COVID-19 sa Pilipinas, ayon kay vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. Sa bilang na ‘yan, 2.52 milyon na ang nakakakumpleto ng dalawang doses.
  • Inaasahan din naman ni Galvez na darating sa Pilipinas ang nasa 99,000 doses ng Moderna vaccines bukas, ika-29 ng Hunyo.
  • Sa pagitan ng Hunyo hanggang Setyembre, naka-schedule na magkaroon ng karagdagang 40-55 milyong doses ng COVID-19 vaccines ang Pilipinas.

 

 

Umabot na sa 1.4 milyon ang tinatamaan ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas, ayon sa pinakabagong tala ng DOH ngayong araw. Sa bilang na ‘yan, pumanaw na ang 24,456 katao. (Daris Jose)
