VOTERS CERTIFICATION SINUSPINDE

SINUSPINDE ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang pagpapalabas ng sertipikasyon ng botante mula Setyembre 27 hanggang 30, ang huling linggo ng panahon ng pagpaparehistro ng botante.

“Isa sa mga ginawa natin yung pagtigil sa pagi-issue ng voter’s certification, yung voter’s certification kasi dati nagi-issue pa tayo sa Comelec offices niyan kasabay ng registration,” pahayag ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez sa Unang Balita.

Ayon kay Jimenez, ang voter registration na lamang ang aktibidad ngayon sa Comelec.

Samantala sinabi ni Jimenez na malabo nang mapagbigyan ang hinihirit ng mga mambabatas na isang buwang extension ng voter registration dahil may mga paghahandaan pang ibang aktibidad para sa eleksyon 2022 tulad ng filing ng Certificate of Candidacy.

Ang voter registration para sa mga bagong botante at tatagal na lamang hanggang September 30.

Warriors star Stephen Curry at asawa muling ikinasal

Muling ikinasal si Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry at asawa nitong si Ayesha.

Isinagawa ang renewal of vows bilang bahagi ng kanilang 10th wedding aniversary.

Sa social media account ni Ayesha ay nagpost ito ng mga larawan.

Isa umanong surpresang renewal of vow ang ginawa ng NBA star.

Ang anak nilang si Riley ang nagsilbing officiator ng kanilang kasal habang kasama ring naglakad sa kasal ang dalawa pang anak nila na sina Ryan at Canon.

‘Weeklong activities sisimulan ngayong araw sa pagdiriwang ng Tourism Month 2021 sa Dapitan City’

All-set na ang Dapitan City government sa pagsisimula ng kanilang weeklong activities na mag-uumpisa ngayong araw September 24 hanggang September 30,2021 bilang pagdiriwang sa Tourism Month 2021 na may temang “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”, sa kabila ng nararanasang Covid-19 pandemic sa bansa.

Ayon kay Dapitan City Tourism Officer Ms Apple Marie Agolong, ibat-ibang aktibidad ang kanilang inihanda at kaniyang sinisiguro na hindi ito lumalabag sa health protocols na itinakda ng IATF.

“We are ready to start the rest of the activities lined up for the celebration of the Tourism Month.Dapitan is a recipient of two seminars which were held in preparation for the Kaluto ni Rizal Cooking Contest. We had been attending DOT’s Zoom Tourism 101 since Monday and DILG’s Layag Discussion Series and last Wednesday was the premier showing of the Quasi Documentary of Dapitan during Pandemic Times. Good luck to all the contestants,” mensahe ni Ms. Agolong.

Sinabi ni Agolong ang siyudad ng Dapitan sa Probinsiya ng Zamboanga del Norte ay hitik sa historical sites at sa mga breathtaking natural landscapes. Ang siyudad ay kilalang “Shrine City of the Philippines” ang lugar kung saan apat na taon na exile ang Pambansang Bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal.

“ Tourists come to experience a harmonious blend of manmade architectural prowess, the beauty of nature, and the hospitality of the people that the city can offer. Through the Dapitan City Tourism Office’s endeavours,” pahayag ni Agolong.

Kabilang sa mga nakalinyang aktibidad ay ang Urban Adventure Race, Paseo de Dapitan Fashion Competition, Kaluto ni Rizal Cooking Contest, Photo Walk Contest, Photo Exhibit activities at magkakaroon din ng commemorative program kung saan gagawin ito sa Rizal Shrine at sa mismong City Plaza ng siyudad.

“ Thankfully, Dapitanons can enjoy themselves during Tourism Month without straying too far from home with all the activities lined up for September. The Dapitan Tourism Office will try to ensure a safe and responsible Tourism Month Celebration locally,”dagdag pa ni Ms. Agolong.

Nakatakda rin ipagdiriwang ng Dapitan City ang ika-390th year of Christianity sa darating na October 9-12,2021.

Hinikayat naman ni Agolong ang publiko maging ang mga turista na bukod sa mga nakalinyang aktibidad ay maaari din silang bumisita sa famous Dapitan sites kabilang ang Rizal Shrine at iba pang landmarks na may kaugnayan sa ating bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal.

Ipinagmamalaki din ni Agolong ang Plaza ng Dapitan kung saan makikita ang monumento ni Rizal at ang Relief Map ng Mindanao.

Para naman duon sa mga avid travel junkie, may mga lugar din silang maaaring puntahan sa siyudad kung saan makakakita sila ng mga bagong tanawin, mga lugar na kanilang ma explore, ito ay bukod pa sa famous Dakak Beach Resort.

“Unfortunately, this has not been the reality for everyone for more than a year now. The pandemic the world is experiencing has hindered an essential part of the tourism industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on people in a lot of ways. A lot of industries have taken a blow from it as well, where the tourism sector is hardest hit. Health protocols advised staying inside, no travelling, and no gatherings. ANGEL, pinaliwanag na ‘di ganun kadali ang pinagdaraanang journey para pumayat; looking forward sa kanyang maa-achieve

MAY mahabang paliwanag si Angel Locsin tungkol sa huling post na nag-viral dahil sa mga photos na ibinahagi na parang bigla-bigla siyang pumayat.

Nagtalo-talo tuloy ang netizens, kung edited ba ang kanyang pinost at may nagsabi na nasa tamang anggulo lang ‘yun.

Pero totoo naman na malaki na talaga ang ipinayat ni Angel, at ginagawa talaga niya ‘yun at nagpupursige para sa kanyang health and preparation na rin sa pagkakaroon nila ng anak nang asawang si Neil Arce.

Pinakita niya sa meron pa siyang bilbil sa tummy niya at nilagyan niya ito ng smiley face at caption sa latest IG post, “Hello everyone! About my recent post that became viral, first, I want to say that knowing how to pose the right way can help you look slimmer. I think everyone who posts ootd’s or watched Top model knows this.

“So for those struggling to lose that extra weight, please don’t feel pressured. I tell you that I understand that it’s not easy, having been fighting weight gain for years.”

Pagpapatuloy niya, “Pressure did not and will not help. Just take your time. Your body, your rules. Just don’t forget to love every inch of you in the process, no matter what other people may say. You are more than your weight or how you look.

“What’s important is how you feel and think of yourself. Shine. Don’t let the perception of others dim your light. I know you are trying. I know it’s hard. I understand.”

Dagdag pa ni Angel, “Second, slowly, yes I was able to slim down—but I’m acknowledging that I’m still a work in progress. Though I feel good now. I’ve been taking care of my health and trying out something new.

Carlos Yulo nagkamit ng gold medal sa Japan tournament

Nagkamit ng gold medal si Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo sa 2021 All-Japan Senior and Masters Gymnastics Championship sa Yamagata.

Sinabi ng kaniyang coach na si Munehiro Kugemiya na nakakuha rin ito ng bronze medal sa vault event.

Dagdag pa nito na nagtala ng 15.30 points si Yulo sa floor exercise at 15.00 sa vault event.

Magugunitang hindi nagtagumpay si Yulo sa mga events na sinalihan nito sa Tokyo Olympics.

Mga lugar na nasa lockdown sa QC nadagdagan pa; occupancy rate sa 3 hospitals 100% na

Muling nadagdagan ang bilang ng mga lugar na isinailalim sa special concern lockdown sa Quezon City.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte nasa ilalim ng Special Concern Lockdown Areas (SCLA) ang 53 na lugar sa lungsod dahil sa pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID-19.

Sinabi ni Belmonte na partikular na lugar lamang ang sakop ng SCLA at hindi buong barangay.

Siniguro naman ng alkalde na sila ay mamamahagi ng food packs at essential kits para sa mga apektadong pamilya at sila ay sasailalim sa swab testing at mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Sa ngayon nasa 11,660 ang COVID-19 active cases ng Quezon City habang nasa 91.76% o 145,387 ang gumaling sa sakit at nasa 1,399 ang naiulat na nasawi.

Sa ngayon ang Barangay Bahay Toro ang may pinakamataas na bilang ng COVId-19 active cases na nasa 294, sumunod ang Barangay Bagong Pagasa na may 168 active cases at ang Project 6 na may 151.

Sa kabilang dako, nanatili sa 100% ang occupancy rate sa tatlong pampublikong hospital sa siyudad.

Ang Quezon City General Hospital nasa 98% ang bed occupancy na mayroong 115 pasyente; ang Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital ay nasa 139% bed occupancy na may 75 covid-19 patients; at ang Novaliches District Hospital ay nasa 160.40% occupancy rate na may 77 pasyente.

Habang ang 12 Hope community caring facilities ng Quezon City ay kasalukuyang nasa 51.01% ang bed occupancy na may kabuuang 1,733 pasyente.

Panawagan ng pamahalaang lungsod sa mga QCitizens, kung nangangailangan ang mga ito ng pasilidad para sa mga COVID-19 mild o asymptomatic patients, makipag-ugnayan muna sa kani-kanilang mga barangay at QC Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) para ma-admit sa HOPE facilities.

PDU30: detensyon o pagpiit sa resource person sa Senate probe, isang pang-aabuso

IKINUNSIDERA ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte bilang “oppression” ang detensyon o pagpipiit ng resource persons na tumangging sabihin ang nais ng mga senador na nais nilang marinig sa pagdinig sa Senate blue ribbon committee hinggil sa di umano’y overpriced ng pandemic supplies.

Sa Talk to the Peole, araw ng Miyerkules, hinamon ni Pangulong Duterte ang komite na magsampa ng kaso laban sa mga concerned personalities kung ang komite ay may sapat na ebidensiya.

“Pharmally o ano, idemanda na ninyo. May ebidensiya naman kaya kayo”, ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.

“But to detain someone because you are not getting answers you want to hear is pure oppression,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Tinukoy ang Saligang Batas, binatikos ni Pangulong Duterte ang Senate committee dahil sa pagbabanta sa mga resource persons na mabibilanggo kapag tumanggi na sumagot sa ilan nilang katanungan.

“They are not respondents. As a matter of fact, they are called resource persons,” paglilinaw ni Pangulong Duterte.

“Tapos kukulungin mo? That’s a violation of the constitutional right of a person. Iyang contempt na ‘yan, it’s a very malaking question mark ‘yan,” diing pahayag nito

Nauna rito, binira ni Pangulong Duterte si Senador Gordon — nangunguna sa imbestigasyon ng blue ribbon committee para sa paggamit ng testimonya ng sinibak na si Police Colonel Eduardo Acierto, na tinawag nitong “perjured witness.”

Si Acierto ay ang pulis na naugnay sa Chinese businessman na si Michael Yang, dating economics adviser ni Pangulong Duterte.

Ang mga senador na nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ay nagpahayag na si Michael Yang, ay may kaugnayan sa Pharmally Pharmaceuticals Corporation, which is being questioned para sa di umano’y overpricing ng medical supplies para sa COVID-19 response ng pamahalaan.

Ang Pharmally, isang maliit na kompanya ang siyang nakasungkit ng P8 bilyong halaga ng procurement deals sa gobyerno.

Nauna rito, nagpalabas naman ng contempt citation ang Senado laban kay Yang, ana dahilan para arestuhin ito kasama ang ibang opisyal ng Pharmally, para sa di umano’y pag-iwas sa panahon ng pagdinig. (Daris Jose)

Dahil dito ay nahigitan niya si Lionel Messi.

Base sa Forbes sa mayroong kabuuang kita ito na $125 milyon kung saan $70 milyon ay mula sa kaniyang sahod at bonuses.

Habang mayroong $110-M naman na kita si Messi.

Nasa pangatlong puwesto si Argentine strike partner PSG Neymar na mayroong kita na $95 -M habang isang PSG player na si Kylan Mbappe ay nasa pang-apat na puwesto na mayroong kita na $43-M at pang-lima si LIiverpool forward Mohamed Salah na mayroong $41-M.

Comelec walang kapangyarihan na tumanggi sa voter registration extension – Lagman

Binigyan diin ni Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman na hindi maaring tumanggi ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa extension ng voter registration process.

Sa ilalim kasi aniya ng iniakda niyang batas, ang Republic Act No. 8189 o “The Voter’s Registration Act of 1996,” mayroong hanggang Enero 9, 2022 ang poll body para isagawa ang voter registration.

Sa ilalim ng Section 8 ng naturang batas, nakasaad na ipinagbabawal lamang ang voter registration 120 days bago ang regular election at 90 days naman bago ang isang special election.

Dahil dito, sinabi ni Lagman na maaring ipagpatuloy pa rin ang registration ng mga botante para sa May 2022 polls hanggang Enero 9, 2020, na saktong 120 days bago ang May 9, 2022 regular election.

Mas reasonable at critical pa nga sa ngayon ang batas na ito lalo pa at nahaharap ang bansa sa pandemya, na pahirap sa mga nagnanais sana magparehistro dahil sa mga restrictions.

Magugunita na sa mga nakalipas na linggo ay makailang ulit na nananawagan ang dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso na palawigin ng Comelec ang voter’s registration process para maiwasan ang malaking voter disenfranchisement.

Nanindigan ang Comelec na sundin ang kanilang September 30 deadline, pero bukas naman sa ideya ng 1-week extension pagkatapos ng filing ng certificate of candidacy mula Oktubre 1 hanggang 8.

Chris Pratt Cast as the Iconic Super Mario in a new animated movie ‘MARIO’

CHRIS Pratt will play Super Mario in a new animated movie, titled MARIO based on the iconic Nintendo video game character.

Video game movies have a long and largely disappointing track record, but that hasn’t stopped Hollywood from continuing to make them. The fortunes of video game movies have changed in recent years, with movies like Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Tomb Raider, and Sonic the Hedgehog experiencing varying levels of success.

Nintendo has largely kept its roster of iconic video game characters out of the spotlight when it comes to movies or TV shows. They infamously made a live-action Super Mario Bros. movie in 1993, which has gained the reputation as being one of the worst video game movies of all time.

After years of focusing its attention on making more successful games for consoles like the Nintendo Switch, it was announced that Illumination was developing an animated movie that would star Super Mario. Details on the movie have been scarce ever since, but now that has changed.

As part of the Nintendo Direct live-stream event, it was announced that Chris Pratt will voice Mario in the upcoming but Super Mario animated movie, officially titled MARIO, as announced by Universal Pictures. Pratt is currently one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood, thanks to his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Jurassic World trilogy.

He also recently starred in Amazon’s hit sci-fi action film, The Tomorrow War, and is well-known for his role in Parks and Recreation. Now, he’ll get the chance to voice one of the most recognizable video game characters ever made. Nintendo also revealed nine other voice actors in the upcoming movie.

Pratt is one of ten cast members now confirmed to appear in the Super Mario animated movie. He’s joined by Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, and Charles Martinet – who voices Mario, Luigi, Wario, and more in the video games. It’s a stacked cast of recognizable names to give Nintendo and Illumination’s Super Mario film some star power.

It also won’t be the first time Pratt has led a major IP animated movie, as he voiced Emmett in and its sequel.

The reaction to Pratt playing Mario is already one that is dividing fans online, though. He isn’t exactly the first choice most would’ve had to voice the Italian plumber. However, the Super Mario movie clearly wanted a major star at its center.

With the movie not hitting theaters until December 2022, there will be plenty of time for fans to debate whether or not Pratt was the right choice. Ultimately, he’ll prove everyone right or wrong once MARIO is released next year.
