NAG-TRENDING sa Twitter ang post ng Sparkle GMA Artist Center na: “Goosebumps sa first-ever solo mall show ni Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco sa Gaisano Mall of Davao – A number of fans also travelled from different parts of Mindanao to see David.”

David is in Davao City this weekend to celebrate Wiltelcom’s 23^rd anniversary. Kasabay nito ay ipinakita ang video kung gaano karami ang mga fans na pumuno sa four levels ng mall. Nahirapan ang security bago nila naiakyat sa stage si David.

Hindi ito in-expect ni David, na gusto na sanang mag-give up sa kanyang showbiz career, at ang “Maria Clara at Ibarra” na sana ang huli niyang gagawing serye sa GMA Network, ayon sa manager niyang si Arnold Vegafria.

“Gusto na sana ni David na mag-focus na lamang sa mga businesses niya, para raw kasing walang nangyayari sa kanyang career. Muntik na naming hindi tanggapin ang offer ng #MCI para sa role ni Fidel, pero kinumbinse kami ng GMA, na sagot namin, “let’s see,,, we might get lucky this time.”

Nang magkasama na si Fidel at Klay (Barbie Forteza), napansin ng creative team ng serye na nagustuhan ng viewers ang funny cat-and-mouse dynamic ng dalawa, ang chemistry nila.

Dahil binansagan si David ng “Pambansang Ginoo” at naka-attract na siya ng mga teenage girls and young fans. Kaya totoo iyong ibinaba ang mga ads ni David ng isang big clothing brand na he’s topless and wearing an underwear dahil the children and the teenagers look to him as a role model.

Nawala man ang said ads, kapalit ay apat pang ads ni David as faces of the brand’s main lines.

Meanwhile, sina Barbie at David din ang napili ng Universal Records para sa official music video ng Ben & Ben’s “The Way You Look at Me,” na makakasama nila si Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista.

Ilo-launch ang teaser sa Saturday, March 25, sa YouTube. Napapanood din sila ngayon sa 4-week episode ng “Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko”, tuwing Linggo.

KINAALIWAN na naman ng mga netizens ang Instagram post ni Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach na kung saan ibinahagi na naman ang topless at sexy photos ng kanyang fiancé na si Jeremy Jauncey.

Kung anu-ano nga ang mga naging reaksiyon ng kanyang IG followers sa mga litrato ni Jeremy sa Seychelles, Africa na may caption na, “Another adventure with my love (blue heart emoji).

Say pa ng ilang netizens, parang may double meaning daw ang “Vitamin D” sa caption niya at nilagyan nga ng malisya.

93 percent ng mga Filipino naniniwalang natapos na ang COVID-19

MAYROONG 93 percent ng mga adult Filipinos ang umaasang natapos na krisis dulot ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

Ito ang lumabas na pinakahuling survey ng Social Weather Station kung saan mayroong 1,200 na mga adults ang kanilang sinurvey na isinagawa mula Disyebmre 10 hanggang 14.

Lumabas din sa survey na mayroong 59 percent ang labis na nababahala, habang 18 percent ang bahagyang nababahala, siyam na porsyento ang hindi gaanong nababahala at 13 percent ang hindi nababahala na muli pang mananalasa ang COVID-19.

Magugunitang iniulat ng Department of Health ang tuluyang pagbaba ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

Pinas, US foreign affairs, defense secretaries magpupulong sa Washington

MAGDARAOS ang mga Kalihim ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Department of National Defense (DND) ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ng high-level meeting sa Washington sa darating na Abril.

Layon nito na palakasin ang kanilang political at military engagement sa harap ng posisyon ng China sa South China Sea.

Sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to Washington Jose Manuel Romualdez na makikipagpulong sina Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo at Defense officer in charge Carlito Galvez kina US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin para sa 2 + 2 ministerial meeting.

Ani Romualdez, pag-uusapan ng magkabilang panig ang lawak ng bilateral issues kabilang na ang “defense at security cooperation at significant developments sa economic engagement ng dalawang bansa.

“The 2+2 is scheduled sometime in the middle of April,” ang wika ni Romualdez sa Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP) Prospects forum sa Makati City.

Ani Romualdez ang muling pagbuhay ng napakahalagang mekanismo ay para talakayin ang kasalukuyang estado ng dalawang magka-alyansa ukol sa bilateral relationship at talangguhitan ang paraan ng ugnayan ng mga ito sa pamamagitan ng “enhancement of existing areas of cooperation and the identification of new opportunities.”

“We are now fixing the date. In those meetings we expect to have a very strong indication of how we will proceed with all these agreements and all of these things that have happened in the past couple of months,” ani Romualdez.

Sinabi pa ni Romualdez, saklaw ng agenda ang regional at global issues na may epekto sa dalawang bansa.

Maaari ring isama ang kamakailan lamang na developments o kaganapan sa South China Sea, kung saan naiulat ang serye ng Chinese harassment sa Philippine Coast Guard crew at magsasaka. (Daris Jose)

Transport group naguguluhan sa P9 fare discount

NAGBIGAY ng pahayag ang isang transport group tungkol sa ipapatupad na fare discount ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) kung saan sinabi na hindi lahat ng fare discount ay ipapatupad sa lahat ng ruta.

Binatikos ni Manibela president Mar Valbuena ang memorandum na nilabas ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) matapos ipahayag ang fare reduction dahil sa kakulangan ng mechanics.

Diniin ni Valbuena na dahil sa kakulangan ng mechanics at hindi naman malinaw kung ang mga nasa ilalim lamang ng service contracting ang kasama, kaya hindi lahat ng ruta ay makakasama.

“The transport sector will again bear the brunt of this fare discount. The DOTr should not have made the announcement without the mechanics as it has caused confusion among jeepney drivers,” wika ni Valbuena.

Hindi nila alam kung ang fare discount ay para lamang sa mga public utility vehicles (PUV) tulad ng traditional at modern jeepneys, buses at UV Express na kasama sa programa ng service contracting ng pamahalaan.

Ayon sa memorandum ng DOTr, magkakaron ng P3 rollback para sa traditional jeepney mula P12 at ito ay magiging P9 na lamang. Habang modern jeepney naman ay magiging P11 na lamang mula sa dating P14.

“Commuters presume that the discount fare covers all public utility jeepneys. How about the routes that will not be included in the discount? The jeepney drivers will be affected if they cannot avail themselves of government subsidy,” dagdag ni Valbuena

Nagbigay ng suhestiyon si Valbuena na dapat sana ay pag-aralan munang mabuti ng LTFRB ang guidelines bago ito ipatupad kung saan magkakaron ng P9 discounted fare.

“The mindset of the passengers is that all public utility vehicles will offer fare discounts. But based on the announcement of the DOTr, PUV operators who can avail themselves of the program are those with cooperatives,” saad ni Valbuena.

Sinabi rin ni Valbuena na kung magiging ganito ang pagpapatupad ng discounted fare, tiyak na magkakaron ng hindi pagkakaintindihan sa pagitan ng mga drivers na hindi naman kasama sa discounted fare at ng pasahero.

Ayon sa DOTr, ang fare discounts ay ipapatupad kapalit ng libreng sakay na dati ng ipinatupad sa EDSA bus carousel.

Sa ilalim ng service contracting program, ang pamahalaan ay naglaan ng P2.1 billion para sa discounted fares. Tatagal ng anim (6) na buwan ang nasabing discounted fares. LASACMAR

P120 MILYON POULTRY, SEAFOODS PRODUCT, NASABAT NG BOC

AABOT na P120 milyong halaga ng poultry,seafood products ang nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs (BoC) sa serye ng isinagawang pagsalakay sa pitong bodega sa Navotas City kamakailan.

Katuwang ng BOC SA pagsalakay ang Investigation Service at the Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP), Department of Agriculture-Inspectorate and Enforcement Office (DA-IE), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) nang salakayin ang mga bodega bitbit ang Letters of Authority (LOAs) na pirmado ni Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.

Natuklasan sa pag-inspeksyon sa mga bodega ang iba’t ibang poultry products, gaya ng frozen pork legs, chicken drumsticks, pork spareribs, squid rings, crayfish, pork ears, pork hinges, abalone, brawley beef, pork aorta, chicken feet, pork riblets, golden pompano, pangasius fillet, boneless pork ham, fish tofu, at pork ears.

Karamihan sa frozen seafood ay mula China , mayroon ding beef mula beef mula Brazil at Australia, pork mula United States,at pork ears naman mula Russia.

Sagip Pelikula Brings the Restored Version of “Inagaw Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin” at the MET

IN celebration of National Women’s Month, ‘Sagip Pelikula’ brought one of its restored titles featuring two of the premier actresses today, Maricel Soriano and Snooky Serna, with their 1995 family-drama classic “Inagaw Mo ang Lahat sa Akin” in the latest installment of Mga Hiyas ng Sineng Filipino, co-organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP), at the Manila Metropolitan Theater (MET) last March 19.

The Reyna Films classic screened for free at the re-opened Metropolitan Theater, which also featured a talk-back session with its lead stars Maricel and Snooky alongside the film’s screenwriter Bibeth Orteza, director Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Central Digital Lab’s CEO Manet Dayrit, plus co-stars Jess Evardone and FDCP chairperson Tirso Cruz III.

Its cast, writer, and director recounted the challenges of making the film and were overwhelmed with its overall restoration and the continuous massive audience reception years after its initial theatrical release.

Meanwhile, Central Digital Lab’s Manet Dayrit expressed gratitude for its partnership with Sagip Pelikula in its goal to preserve Filipino cinematic classics for many years to come.

“We first started with ABS-CBN Film Restoration, and we want to restore as many films as possible to preserve our heritage… Digital restoration locally was really started through ABS-CBN. Since we started this project, there’s a new generation of filmgoers appreciating these titles, and we are happy to see these in theaters again, plus on various streaming platforms,” Manet addressed.

“Inagaw Mo ang Lahat sa Akin” recounts how the intense sibling rivalry between Jacinta (Maricel) and Clarita (Snooky) brewed following the latter’s return to their humble provincial home years after leaving for the city in search of a better life.

After catching up with lost time alongside their ailing mother, a rift suddenly separates them upon uncovering the secret behind Jacinta’s plan to sabotage her husband’s past relationship with her sister and a scandalous affair involving their deceased father.

The film’s restoration was made possible alongside Central Digital Lab and first made its digital premiere in 2020 via KTX.ph after its theatrical release in 1995.

Prior to its screening at the Metropolitan Theater, other restored titles from Sagip Pelikula were also featured in the Mga Hiyas ng Sineng Filipino event, including “Sana Maulit Muli” and “Himala.”

Mga Hiyas ng Sineng Filipino, co-organized by MET, FDCP, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Philippine Film Archives (PFA), and Sagip Pelikula, aims to bring back timeless Filipino classics to the big screen in its restored and remastered fashion.

Apart from supporting the event’s various iterations, Sagip Pelikula explores more collaborative efforts with FDCP to promote Filipino cinema to today’s audiences, most recently with the Sine Sinta festival last February.

ABS-CBN Film Restoration continues to restore and remaster films from directors and writers of note for today’s viewers to appreciate through its Sagip Pelikula initiative.

These efforts have earned multiple recognitions from award-giving bodies worldwide, including the prestigious Gold Quill Award given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Gawad Pedro Bucaneg from Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL), and most recently the Gawad PASADO sa Pagsisinop ng mga De Kalibreng Pelikula distinction from the 23rd Gawad PASADO organized by Pampelikulang Samahan ng mga Dalubguro (PASADO).

Cha-cha ‘word war’ sa pagitan ng Kamara at Senado, itigil na

HINIKAYAT ni Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. ang mga lider ng dalawang kapulungan ng kongreso na mag-usap at ayusin ng pribado ang kanilang bangayan sa isyu ng isinusulong na constitutional amendments ng Kamara sa halip na mag-away sa publiko.

Umapela pa ang mambabatas ng parliamentary courtesy at ayusin ng pribado ang pinagkakaiba ng opinion ng mga lider ng kongreso.

“Nagkakaroon tuloy ng word war between the Senate President and the Speaker (Martin Romualdez) and (House Committee on Constitutional Amendments) Chairman Rufus (Rodriguez), minsan nakakahiya e,” pahayag ng mambabatas sa radio program ni Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers nitong nakalipas na Biyernes na “Kape Kape Muna. Dapat e veteran legislators kami, kung ano man ang pinagkakaiba ng opinyon, settle privately.”

Nagsimula ang word war nang ihayag nu Senate President Zubiri na ang pagkaka-delay sa pagpapatupad ng implementing guidelines sa tatlong batas (1. Public Service Act; 2. Retail Trade Liberalization; 3. Foreign Investment Act) ay lumilitaw na dahil sa isinusulong ng charter change ng Kamara.

Inihayag naman ni Rodriguez na “unfair” ang alegasyon ni Zubiri sa mga mambabatas lalo na sa Speaker.

“Hindi namin kasalanan ‘yun (delay in the enforcement of the implementing guidelines of the three laws),” ani Barzaga.

Nilinaw naman ni Barzaga, isa sa mga mambabatas na nagsusulong ng amendments sa “restrictive” economic provisions ng Constitution, na kaya nagmamadali ang kamara na maaprubahan ito ay para makatipad ng pera, kung isasabay ang eleksyon ng Con-Con delegates sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections sa October.

“Kasi kung magkakaroon na naman tayo ng separate elections, in order to determine who shall be the Con-Con delegates ay talagang magastos yan at kukuwestunin na naman ng ating mga kababayan at ng mga critics ng ating administration,” pahayag pa ng kongresista. (Ara Romero)

Oil spill sa Oriental Mindoro, malaking banta sa kalusugan ng publiko

IBINABALA ng isang health expert na isang malaking banta sa kalusugan ng publiko ang tumagas na langis sa may karagatan ng Oriental Mindoro dahil sa lumubog na oil tanker na MT Princess Empress.

Kaugnay nito, nagpahayag ang Health Reform Advocate na si Dr. Anthony “Tony” Leachon para sa pangangailangan na mabilis na matugunan ang oil spill sa Oriental Mindoro na muling iginiit na ito ay maaaring magdulot ng sakit sa mga residenteng nakatira malapit sa mga lugar na apektado ng oil spill.

Ilan aniya sa mga sakit na maaaring makuha ay chronic lung disease at cancer.

Hinaing din ng eksperto ang mahinang pagtugon ng gobyerno upang malitas ang sitwasyon dahil tatlong linggio na ang nakakalipas mula ng napaulat ang paglubog ng naturang oil tanker.

Dagdag pa ni Dr Leachon na mayroong 122 residente na ang napaulat na may sakit sa Oriental Mindoro dahil sa oil spill at inaasahang madaragdagan pa ito araw-araw.

Bilang tugon, pinayuhan ang mga local government units (LGUs) ng mga apektadong lugar na lumikha ng “registry” o dokumentasyon ng masamang epekto na nararanasan ng mga residente. (Daris Jose)
