3 PBA star players, dumalo sa blessing ng bagong renovate na sports complex sa Navotas

DUMALO bilang espesyal na mga panauhin ang tatlong star players ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) sa pagbubukas ng bagong renovate na sports complex sa Navotas City, kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng ika-16 na Anibersaryo nito.

Nagtatampok ang bagong ayos na pasilidad ng full-length na basketball court, fully air-condition na mga dugout, at espasyo para sa gym.

Hinihikayat ng tatlong PBA players na sina LA Tenorio, Terrence Romeo, at Paul Lee ang mga Navoteño, lalo na ang mga kabataan, na pumasok sa sports at magpatibay ng aktibong pamumuhay.

“The Navotas Sports Complex bore witness to some of our city’s milestone events. Most notably, this place served as our mega swabbing and vaccination center during the peak of the pandemic,” ani Mayor John Rey Tiangco.

“We have improved the facility to provide a better experience to Navoteños when we hold events here,” dagdag niya.

Samantala, hinihimok naman ni Cong. Toby Tiangco ang mga mamamayan na pangalagaan ang complex para mas matagal itong magamit.

Pagkatapos ng blessing, sumunod ang isang exhibition game sa pagitan ng Team JRT, na binubuo ng mga konsehal ng lungsod, at ng Team DepEd Navotas, na kinabibilangan ng Navotas Schools Division Superintendent Meliton Zurbano at mga guro mula sa iba’t ibang pampublikong paaralan sa Navotas.

Siguradong malapit na ang kasal: Pamilya ni ARJO, namanhikan na sa pamilya ni MAINE

NAMANHIKAN na si Arjo Atayde at ang pamilya niya sa kay Maine Mendoza at sa pamilya nito.

Siyempre, lalo na at isang Bulakenya si Maine, talagang ipinakita naman nina Sylvia Sanchez at ng kanyang mister na si Art Atayde ang nakaugalian o tradisyon na pamamanhikan.

Hindi na ipinakita, pero siguradong napakaraming dalang pagkain nina Sylvia para sa pamilya Mendoza. ‘Di ba’t gano’n naman talaga ‘yon, ang may dala ng mga food ay ang side ng lalaki o groom. Nag-post pa si Sylvia nang malapit na siya sa bahay nila Maine.

Kumpleto ang mga kapatid ni Arjo at ibang kaanak sa pamamanhikan at makikita ang masayang larawan ng dalawang pamilya.

Tikom ang bibig nina Maine at Arjo sa halos lahat ng detalye ng kasal. Pero sigurado, malapit na malapit na ito.

SOBRANG bongga at star-studded talaga ang ginanap na binyag at first birthday celebration ng bunsong anak ni Dimples Romana at ng kanyang Mister na si Boyet Ahmee na si Baby Elio.

Ginanap ang selebrasyon sa Blue Leaf, Taguig City noong Linggo at sa labas pa lang, though, uso naman talaga ang mga pa-food booths, pero ibang level ang food booth na inihanda ni Dimples.

Given na ang kanyang ine-endorso na Mang Inasal ay meron, pero, sangkaterba pa na mga Pinoy food treats at may pa-Japanese food din para siguro sa mahihilig sa cuisine na ito.

Dito pa lang, pang-main course na, pero bumaha pa lalo ng pagkain sa main course. Kaya naman napansin namin na hindi talaga umalis agad ang mga guests at nag-stay.

Naaliw rin sila sa larong pa-BINGO na kahit ang mga artista, game na game na naglaro tulad nina Regine Velasquez, Belle Mariano, Andrea Brillantes, Kaila Estrada, Charlie Dizon, Bea Saw, PJ Endrinal, Paula Peralejo, Bea Alonzo, Melai Cantiveros, Mark Escueta, Jolina Magdangal at iba pa.

Gayundin ang mga ABS-CBN executives na sina Ms. Cory Vidanes at Deo Endrinal. Si Andrea ay nagtatalon nang manalo ng 1k sa Bingo.

Bilib kaming host ng kanyang party si Dimples dahil napaka-chill lang nito at kahit napakaraming guest, kung ilang beses niya naiikutan ang bawat table para estimahin ang bawat isa. Nag-enjoy ang lahat sa Pinoy themed-party.

Ayon kay Dimples, “Alam mo naman, fan ako ng atin,” nang tanungin namin bakit Pinoy themed ang napili niya since, hindi ito common sa mga pambatang party.

Masayang-masaya si Dimples dahil kumpleto rin silang pamilya sa selebrasyon. Umuwi ang panganay niyang anak, si Callie na nag-aaral ng pagka-piloto sa Australia.

Idol siya ng bagong child actress: JILLIAN, naalala ang pagiging bata nang magkita sila ni SIENNA

BIG fan pala ng bagong Kapuso child actress na si Sienna Stevens ang former child star na si Jillian Ward.

Nagkaroon ng pagkakataon si Sienna na bisitahin ang idol niya sa set ng ‘Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap’. Noong magkita na sila, sinabi ni Sienna kay Jillian ay: “Idol po kita, gusto ko maging Daldalita.”

Natawa si Jillian at sinagot kay Sienna ay: “Bakit hindi, ‘di ba! Guys, puwede Daldalita. Pero makikipag-usap sa mga baboy, bibe dun!”

Naalala ni Jillian ang kanyang pagiging bata nang magkita sila ni Sienna na napapanood ngayon sa ‘Royal Blood.’

“Parang na-realize ko talaga na dalaga na po talaga ako. Una sa lahat, baby pa siya pero kilala niya po ako, tapos alam po niya ‘yung mga dati ko pong ginawa Trudis Liit and Daldalita.

“Ngayon ko lang po narinig talaga from super mga baby po na actors na parang ginagawa nila akong role model. I would like to work with you her one day.”

Nagbigay din ng payo si Ate Jillian kay Sienna kung paano makikitungo sa mga makakatrabaho niya sa showbiz.

“Sa ngayon, hindi mo pa siya sobrang ma-appreciate kasi baby ka pa talaga. So, ngayon enjoy-in mo lang ‘yan dahil darating ‘yung oras na magdadalaga ka. Mas magkaka-insight ka sa ginagawa mo and always, always respect your co-workers,” sey ni Jillian.

UMANI ng bonggang reviews ang all-Filipino musical ‘Here Lies Love’ sa naganap na Broadway debut nito noong nakaraang June 17.

Sold out ang first preview night nito sa Broadway Theater. Pinuri ang lahat ng aspeto ng musical, mula sa music, production design, costume at performance ng buong cast.

“It’s a good start. We’re gonna have a great run. It’s gonna be fantastic. The audience was fantastic,” sey ni Jose Llana, who plays Marcos Sr.

Naging proud bilang isang Pinoy ang sikat na New York Fil-American chef na si Jordan Andino noong mapanood niya ang musical: “I’ve never been so proud to be a Filipino. Seeing Filipinos literally in the spotlight just made me so happy.”

‘Here Lies Love’ has 23 all-Filipino cast member kabilang sina Arielle Jacobs as Imelda Marcos, Conrad Ricamora as Ninoy Aquino, and Lea Salonga as Aquino’s mother, Aurora.

The official opening night of “Here Lies Love” is set on July 20.

Mas ok na walang network exclusive contract: ADRIAN, longevity ang habol at hindi yung palaging bida

BAGO ang ‘Magandang Dilag’ ay napanood si Adrian Alandy sa ‘Widow’s Web’ ng GMA.

Huli naman siyang napanood sa ABS-CBN sa ‘Kadenang Ginto.’

Tinanong namin si Adrian kung ano ang feeling na isa siya sa mga artistang puwedeng magtrabaho sa lahat ng networks?

“Well, nakakatuwa kasi mas maraming actors kang nakakasama, both sides at marami kang nagiging kaibigan, ganun naman.

“Nagsimula ako sa GMA nung 1997, 1998, tapos ABS dire-diretso, tapos balik dito tapos bumalik doon, kumbaga iba-ibang direktor ang nakakasama ko, iba-ibang artista both networks.

“Sa TV5 nakapag-work din ako before.

“Very blessed naman ako in terms of yung trust ng mga bosses from GMA, they give me good projects pa din kahit na nakakagawa sa kabila, wala naman tayong bine-burn na bridge.”

So para kay Adrian ay mas okay na hindi siya exclusive contract artist ng anumang network?

“May good points, may bad points, yun nga before noong under ako ng network, mostly leads ang nagagawa, but I really don’t mind doing kahit mga support roles, kasi kahit naman before yung mga roles na nakukuha, kahit hindi lead, basta may trabaho, yun ang importante sa akin, e.

“Kasi ang habol ko naman is hindi yung always lead e, longevity. “Iyon lagi ang napag-uusapan namin ng mga kaibigan ko sa industry, sina Jason [Abalos], nila Joross [Gamboa], cannot always be on top e, pero if you put in a good work, ilalagay ka at ilalagay ka sa mga magagandang proyekto.”

Si Joross ay walang pakialam kung bida siya o hindi.

“Oo di ba, may lead, may hindi, wala siyang ano, yun ang ano namin.”

Kasi parehong magaling ang manager nila na si Noel Ferrer.

“Oo, napakabait ni Sir Noel,” saad pa ni Adrian na si Magnus sa afternoon series.

Bida sa ‘Magandang Dilag’ si Herlene Budol bilang si Gigi, at sina Benjamin Alves (bilang Eric) at Rob Gomez (bilang Jared) na mga leading men niya.

Nasa cast rin sina Maxine Medina bilang Blaire, Bianca Manalo bilang Riley, Angela Alarcon bilang Allison, Muriel Lomadilla bilang Donna, Prince Clemente bilang Cyrus at Jade Tecson bilang Jadah.

Kasama nila ang mga batikang artista na sina Al Tantay bilang Joaquin, Chanda Romero bilang Sofia, at Sandy Andolong bilang Luisa.

Sa direksyon ni Don Michael Perez, mapapanood ang ‘Magandang Dilag’ 3:20 p.m. sa GMA Afternoon Prime at Pinoy Hits.

ISANG autistic na si Archie ang role ni Aidan Veneracion sa ‘Royal Blood’ kaya humingi raw si Aidan ng tips kay Ken Chan para sa kanyang role.

Napakahusay na nagampanan ni Ken ang papel ni Boyet na isa ring autistic sa highly-successful GMA series na ‘My Special Tatay’ na umere noong 2018.

Nagkita at nagkakilala raw sila ni Ken sa isang fan meet na event.

“So, nag-usap po kami, tapos hiningan ko po siya ng tips kung paano ang ginawa niya that time as Boyet.

“And ayun po, important din talaga na as an actor din po, bilang baguhan, first role ko pa po ito at first project.

“So challenging po siya para sa akin kaya nung nalaman ko po na ito ang role ko inisip ko talaga na kailangan kong maghanda for this lalo na yung mga kasama ko dito mga batikang actor at actress dito sa industriya natin so hindi talaga ako nagpapa-petiks-petiks lang.

Quezon city naglunsad ng ‘care card’ para sa LGBTQIA+ couples

INILUNSAD ng Quezon City government ang Right to Care Card para payagan ang mga LGBTQIA+ couple na gumawa ng mga medikal na desisyon sa ngalan ng kanilang mga partner.

Inilunsad ang card habang nagho-host ang lungsod ng Pride Festival, na nagsilbing plataporma para sa komunidad ng LGBTQIA+ na palakasin ang mga panawagan para sa pantay na karapatan.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng pamahalaang lungsod na ang Right to Care Card ay may kasamang QR code na magdidirekta sa gumagamit sa notarized digital version ng Special Power of Attorney (SPA) na dokumento.

Ang mga probisyon ng SPA ay nagpapahiwatig ng mga sumusunod na pribilehiyo:

*Pumili ng partikular na doktor o healthcare provider, kabilang ang admission o discgarge mula sa anumang ospital, nursing home, o residential care facility;

*tumanggap, magproseso, at/o magbunyag ng personal na impormasyon ng kanilang partner kabilang ang mga medikal na rekord;

*payagan o tanggihan ang mga medikal na paggamot, pamamaraan, o anumang iba pang alalahaning medikal na nauugnay sa kondisyong medikal ng kanilang partner;

*gumawa ng anumang iba pang aksyon na nauukol sa awtoridad na ipinagkaloob ng Right to Care Card tulad ng pagproseso ng mga dokumento at waiver, at paghabol sa mga proseso ng paglutas ng hindi pagkakaunawaan.

PLM PINURI KALIDAD NG PAGTUTURO, 195 TAKERS PASADO SA 2023 NLE

SA PANGUNGUNA ni Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto, ipinasa ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Maynila ang isang resolusyong nagbibigay papuri sa Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) matapos pumasa ang lahat ng kanilang estudyante sa nakaraang Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) na nalagpasan ang dating 74.94% na passing rate.

Sa naturang resolusyon na sama-samang iniakda nina Councilors Pamela “Fa” Fugoso, Irma Alfonso-Juson, Louie Chua, at Ernesto “Jong” Isip. Jr., nagkaisa silang purihin ang 195 na nagtapos ng nursing sa pamantasan matapos lahat ay pumasa sa 2023 NLE kung saan 15 sa kanila ang napasama pa sa listahan ng mga topnotchers.

Ang 15 sa mga kabilang sa listahan ng mga topnotchers ay sina Miyu Krista Cuyson Miura na nakakuha ng 3rd place; Karl Russel Abuyo Acuna, 5th place; Pamella Metucua Cordero, 6th place; Dan Precioso Gonzales Cruz, 7th place; Sharmaine Anne Velilla Enriquez, Alexandra Cathlene Infante Pineda, Michaella Valenzuela Umlas na nasa 8th place; Kyla Tolentino Abrencillo, Angelo Jose Mejillano Molina, Jemiline Pascua Olbocm, Shee Ann Mae Doctor Pagasian sa 9th place; at Jed Andrew Stephen Yap Milag, Natasha Mae Basilia Jacinto, Mary Joyce Diane Villotica Lim, at Angelika Arandela Ocampo sa 10th place.

Dahil na rin sa huwarang pagganap, ginawaran ng Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ang PLM bilang isa sa “Top Performing School” ngayong taon sa NLE.

Mabilis namang inaprubahan ng lahat ng miyembro ng Sanggunian ang resolusyon habang tangan pa ni Vice Mayor Nieto ang gavel.

“With [the] utmost support from Mayor Maria Sheilah ‘Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan, PLM continues to shine as one of the premier universities in the country,” pahayag ni VM Nieto.

PBBM, pangungunahan ang nat’l coconut tree-planting sa 50th year ng PCA

INAASAHAN na pangungunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang national coconut tree-planting ceremony sa darating na Hunyo 29 bilang bahagi ng ika-50 anibersaryo ng Kapistahan ng Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA).

May temang “Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future of the Coconut Industry,” sa golden anniversary celebration ng PCA sa Hunyo 30 ay kikilalanin ang accomplishments o nagawa ng PCA sa loob ng 50 taon sa pagsusulong sa coconut industry sa kabila ng mga pagkabigo at hamon.

Bibigyang diin din ng pagdiriwang ang malawak na potensiyal na patuloy na pinanghahawakan ng coconut industry sa pagsusulong ng economic development at iangat ang buhay ng mga coconut farmers sa bansa.

Sa kabila ng mga nakalipas na taon ng “stagnation and decline”, nananatili naman ang coconut industry bilang source ng “top dollar-earning exports” ng bansa at nananatiling nasa pangalawang puwesto ang Pilipinas matapos ang Indonesia pagdating sa global coconut production.

Sa kabilang dako, tiniyak naman ni PCA administrator Bernie F. Cruz ang desisyon ni Pangulong Marcos na pangunahan ang national coconut tree-planting ceremony na pagkilala na rin sa kahalagahan na muling buhayin ang coconut industry sa kanyang pananaw na “agricultural development and modernization” bilang tagasulong ng economic growth at employment.

“As we communicated to the President, the ceremonial tree-planting shall not only mark our 50th founding anniversary but shall also represent the PCA currently planting the seeds for a resurgence in coconut production in the country, the impacts of which will be felt down the line during this Administration and beyond,” ayon kay Cruz.

“With increased productivity, product diversification, and engaging our farmers in higher value-adding activities, we expect in the long run to reverse the trends of declining growth rate and share to GDP of the coconut industry, and significantly increase and even double coconut farmers’ incomes,” dagdag na wika nito.

Nilikha noong Hunyo 30, 1973 sa bisa ng Presidential Decree 232, ang PCA ay “the sole government agency tasked to develop the coconut industry to its full potential in line with the new vision of a united, globally competitive and efficient coconut industry.”

“It was made an independent public corporation by virtue of Presidential Decree 961, which first codified the laws dealing with the development of the coconut and other palm oil industry in the country, as subsequently revised by Presidential Decree 1468, known as the “Revised Coconut Industry Code,” which presently serves as the PCA Charter,” ayon sa ulat.

“At present, the PCA’s core functions include improving the production and productivity of coconut farms; research and development, including market research and promotion of emerging high-value coconut products and by-products; infrastructure development, particularly of seed farms, research-based plantations, and post-harvest facilities; and institutional development of coconut farmers’ organizations and enterprises,” ayon pa rin sa ulat.

Bilang kasalukuyang Kalihim ng Department of Agriculture, si Pangulong Marcos, ang tumatayong chairman ng PCA Board, nagsisilbi naman nitong kinatawan si Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban sa isang ex-officio capacity.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Cruz na mahalaga na pangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang 50th anniversary celebration of the Authority na nilikha sa ilalim ng administrasyon ng ama ni Marcos Jr. na si dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr.,

“In creating the PCA, former President Marcos saw the need to integrate and coordinate, in his words, the ‘then-diffuse efforts of the Government’ on promoting the accelerated growth of the coconut and other palm oil industry. Though we have accomplished much, in many ways we continue to face similar challenges, particularly now with the implementation of the CFIDP which involves 15 implementing agencies, including the PCA,” ayon kay Cruz.

“We believe that our now-President Marcos understands this, the need to further strengthen the convergence efforts of government in order to truly revitalize the coconut industry, which is why he has chosen to give this occasion of the 50th anniversary of the PCA such importance. NASABAT ng ahente ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Mactan-Cebu International Airport ang labing-isa na indibidwal na hinihinalang biktima ng human trafficking biyaheng Dubai, UAE noong June 21, 2023.

Kabilang dito ang pitong babae a6 apat na lalaki na pinagdududahan sa initial inspection ng primary Inspector kaya ipinasa sila sa Travel Control and Enforcement Unit (TCEU) for further investigation.

Sinabi ni Christabel O. Cuizon, Supervisor ng MCIA TCEU, na pagdudahan ang dahilan ng kanilang biyehe, kung saan ilan sa kanilang miyembro ay offloaded at hawak nila ang kanilang employment visas dahilan upang i-turn over sa Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) Task Force sa Cebu.

TOM CRUISE AND CHRISTOPHER MCQUARRIE TEAM UP AGAIN FOR THEIR BIGGEST MISSION YET IN “DEAD RECKONING PART ONE”

FOR the filmmakers of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the latest installment is a love letter to the whole Mission series.

“It’s absolutely that,” says Tom Cruise, who reprises his now iconic role of Ethan Hunt in the film, which he also produces. “People who haven’t seen the other Missions are going to enjoy this one as a standalone experience. And the people who have seen all the other Missions will have a whole other insight into it. The story we have is very special.”

According to director-producer-writer Christopher McQuarrie, back at the helm to direct his fourth Mission: Impossible movie, the key to crafting that story is the emotion. “Everything that you are seeing in this movie is Tom and I focused on two things simultaneously. There is the action that we owe you because you’re coming to see a Mission: Impossible movie, and there’s the emotion that makes that action worth doing,” he says.

Dead Reckoning Part One sees Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and his IMF (Impossible Missions Force) team on their most dangerous mission yet – trying to save the world from a mysterious, all-powerful enemy with the power to control the way humanity perceives reality. “The stakes in this story are as global as global stakes get,” notes McQuarrie.

It takes as its title an old maritime term. “In navigation, ‘dead reckoning’ is the process by which you calculate your course based solely on your last known position,” McQuarrie says. “You’re essentially flying blind. And that becomes quite the metaphor, not only for Ethan, but for several key characters.”

“This is the first time we’ve ever split a Mission: Impossible story over two movies,” says Cruise of Dead Reckoning, Part One of which opens in cinemas July 12, while Part Two is scheduled for release next year. “It’s something we’ve never attempted before because of the complexity of these stories. The scale of these two movies is epic in every sense.”

Cruise remembers the moment the idea first started forming while he and McQuarrie were shooting another ground-breaking Cruise sequel scripted by McQuarrie, which the two also produced: “We were shooting Top Gun: Maverick and we started to talk about Mission. McQ said, ‘We have to make a back-to-back.’ And that really got me,” Cruise says, “because I’ve never done a back-to-back and I like learning new things. So when he said that it was very much like, ‘Yes, okay…’”

They knew it would be challenging. “But we also knew it would be interesting,” Cruise counters. “I’d wanted to build up this franchise to the stage where we are today, where it’s like, ‘Now I feel that we’ve earned this moment, to be able to blow it out on this scale.’”

“We often like to say we’re not competing with anybody but ourselves. We’re looking at the last film and figuring how can we outdo that?,” McQuarrie adds. “The sense of scale becomes bigger with each movie and the sense of limitations becomes that much smaller. You just become a little bit more adventurous every time.”
