LTO, target na gawing fully digital ang aplikasyon ng Student Permit at Drivers License

INIHAYAG ng Land Transportation Office na plano nilang gawing fully digital ang aplikasyon sa pagkuha ng mga Student Permit, Driver’s License at renewal.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, doble effort ang ginagawa ng kanilang ahensya upang matugunan ang panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Paliwanag ng opisyal, mababawasan na ang mga fixers sa ahensya dahil kaunti na lamang ang face-to-face transactions sa ahensya.

Giit ni Mendoza, ang teknolohiya ay talagang epektibo upang mapuksa ang korapsyon sa lahat ng mga transaksyon sa kanilang tanggapan at mga satellite offices nito.

Pinapagbuti at pinalalakas na rin ngayon ng LTO ang kanilang information dissemination.

Layunin nitong mahikayat ang mga motorista na tangkilikin ang online transactions sa registration at renewal ng motor vehicle registration.

Paliwanag pa nito na nasa proseso na ang LTO sa pag-integrate ng bagong IT system sa lumang sistema upang masigurong hindi magkakaaberya o technical glitches.

PINAIIMBESTIGAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang nangyaring pagbangga ng China Coast Guard (CCG) sa maliit na barkong kinontrata ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) para sa resupply mission sa Ayungin Shoal, ayon sa National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS)

Nauna rito, nagpatawag si Pangulong Marcos ng command conference para talakayin ang pinakabagong ginawang paglabag ng China sa resource-rich region.

“He instructed the Philippine Coast Guard to conduct an investigation, as mandated by international maritime laws, into the events that transpired during the RORE mission to Ayungin Shoal by vessels of the China Coast Guard,” ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

“The incident, brought about by dangerous, illegal, and reckless maneuvers by vessels of the China Coast Guard, caused damage to a Philippine vessel within our exclusive economic zone and is being taken seriously at the highest level of government,” dagdag na wika ng PCO.

Samantala, napaulat na sinabi ng NTF-WPS na nangyari ang insidente dakong alas-6:04 nang umaga nang magsagawa ng “dangerous blocking maneuvers” ang CCG vessel 5203 (CCGV 5203) na nagresulta sa pagkakabangga sa indigenous resupply boat Unaiza May 2 (UM2), halos 13.5 nautical miles sa silangan hilagang silangan ng BRP Sierra Madre.

Ang UM2 ay nagsasagawa ng regular and routine rotation and resupply (RORE) mission sa BRP Sierra Madre na nakasadsad sa Ayungin Shoal sapul noong 1999.

“The provocative, irresponsible, and illegal action of CCGV 5203 imperiled the safety of the crew of UM2,” ayon sa task force.

Binangga naman ng Chinese maritime militia vessel 00003 (CMMV 00003) ang port side ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel MRRV 4409 habang nasa 6.4NM Hilagang Silangan ng Ayungin Shoal.

Sa kabila ng pagbangga, nakapagpatuloy pa rin sa RORE mission ang UM2 at ang barko ng PCG, habang ang Unaiza May 1 (UM1) naman ay matagumpay na nakarating sa BRP Sierra Madre.

“The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) condemns in the strongest degree the latest dangerous, irresponsible, and illegal actions of the CCG and the Chinese Maritime Militia done this morning, in violation of Philippine sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction and in utter blatant disregard of the United Nations Charter, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) and relevant international maritime conventions, and the 2016 Arbitral Award,” ayon sa kalatas.

Nanindigan naman ang CCG na legal ang pagharang nila sa mga bangko ng Pilipinas dahil nagdadala umano tayo ng “illegal construction materials” sa BRP Sierra Madre.

Samantala, mariing ni US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson ang China dahil sa “latest disruption of a legal Philippine resupply mission to Ayungin Shoal,” at ang paglalagay sa panganib sa mga sakay ng barko.

Naglabas din ng pahayag ang Canadian Embassy sa Pilipinas at kinokondena ang insidente ng banggaan dahil sa “unlawful and dangerous conduct” ng CCG. (Daris Jose)

Celebrating the film’s 35th anniversary, the remastered version of “Beetlejuice” will span an audience who grew up in the 80s and 90s eager to see the film again in theaters, to an all-new moviegoing audience who are about to experience a beloved classic prepped to match today’s visual and sound technology (Dolby) that can be best experienced at Ayala Malls Cinemas.

The fantasy dark comedy stars Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as the Maitlands, a young couple who try to haunt the pretentious humans who have moved into their New England farmhouse by eliciting the help of a demonic wraith (Michael Keaton) they cannot control. This comic fantasy, which mixes the quick and the dead with a laugh and a fright, launched the careers of major household names such as Keaton, Baldwin, Davis, Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder.

Nagtapos na ang limited guest engagement: VINA, isa nang legit na ‘broadway actor’ dahil sa ‘Here Lies Love’

NATAPOS na nga ang limited guest engagement ni Vina Morales bilang Aurora Aquino sa hit Broadway musical na “Here Lies Love” last Sunday, October 22.

Sa kanyang IG account, nagpaalam si Vina sa musical noong Lunes, October 23, nang mag-upload niya ang isang video kuha sa loob ng kanyang dressing room.

May caption ito ng, “I am humbled, inspired, grateful, thankful for this amazing blessing! I can finally say that I am a Broadway actor. Been in show business for years and this one is for the books!

“Not only because It’s a dream come true but I get to work with these amazing talented people! Thank you my @herelieslovebway family for being so kind to me and to everyone!

“I thanked all the people who’s been a part of this journey! You know who you are! I will definitely miss you all!”

At ang makasaysayang debut nito sa Broadway ay nagsimula noong July 20 kasama ang isang all-Filipino cast.

Na-extend hanggang August 19 ang performance ni Lea na originally hanggang August 13 lang kanyang limited guest engagement.

IBA talaga ang isang Barbie Forteza, kaya niyang gawin anuman ang hinihingi ng role niya sa kanya. Tulad ngayon na nasa last two weeks na lamang ang action-drama series nila ni David Licauco, ang “Maging Sino Ka Man,” ay sumabak pa siya sa isang matinding action scene.

Kung noong unang bahagi ng serye ay nakita siyang naka-motor at nahulog sa isang tulay, ngayon naman ay nakipagsuntukan siya kay ER Ejercito, kasama si David, at pinost niya ito sa kanyang Instagram.

“Pinaghandaan ko po talaga ito dahil first time kong gagawin at hindi ako tumanggi na turuan ako ng mga techniques kung paano gawin ang isang fight scene under the instructions of our fight instructors,” kuwento ni Barbie.

“Panoorin po ninyo ako kung pasado ang mga eksena kong ginawa. Natuwa rin ako nang isa-isang ituro sa akin ang mga eksenang pinapanood ko lamang dati, at sabi ko nga may natutunan na ako at magagamit ko rin para sa self-defense.”

PROUD si Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla sa malaking pagbabago ng kanyang lifestyle, ngayong nagti-taping siya ng bagong action-serye sa GMA Network, ang “Black Rider” with Ruru Madrid, Yassi Pressman and others.

Sa kanyang Instagram Stories, ikinuwento ni Kylie na dalawang taon na siyang walang bisyo, lalo na pagdating sa paninigarilyo at hindi na rin daw siya umiinom.

“I used to love my alcohol only in moderation, pero I loved a glass or 4 ng wine especially if things got a little stressful sa buhay ko.

Alert level 3 itinaas ng DFA sa sitwasyon sa Lebanon

DAHIL sa patuloy na kuguluhan sa pagitan ng Israel at mga katabing bansa, itinaas na sa Alert level 3 ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang sitwasyon sa Lebanon.

Nangangahulugan ito, ayon kay DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega, na maaari na ang voluntary repatriation sa mga Pinoy para maiwasan na maipit sa bakbakan sa pagitan ng Hezbollah militants at tropa ng Israel.

Nauna nang ipinag-utos ng Philippine Embassy sa Beirut ang evacuation sa may 67 Pinoy na nasa southern Lebanon dahil sa mga aktibidad ng Hezbollah kung saan nagpapaulan sila ng rockets sa direksyon ng Israel habang patuloy rin naman ang pagganti nito.

Patuloy naman naghihintay sa Gaza ang mga Pinoy na makatawid sa corridor patungong Egypt at mula dito ay ligtas silang babalik sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi rin ni De Vega na sa 135 Filipino na naitala sa Gaza na pinapatakbo ng Hamas, tanging 78 lang ang nagpaplano na bumalik dito sa Pilipinas.

Pope Francis muling nanawagan ng pagtigil ng giyera sa Israel

MULING nanawagan si Pope Francis ng pagtatapos na ng labanan sa pagitan ng Hamas at Israel.

Sa kanyang traditional Angelus prayer sa St. Peter’s Square, sinabi nito na ang giyera ay laging pagkatalo at pagkasira ng pagiging magkapatid.

Dagdag pa nito na muli siyang nanawagan ng pagbubukas ng daanan para ng mga tulong sa mga sibliyang naiipit sa kaguluhan at ang pagpapalaya sa mga bihag.

Magugunitang mula ng magsimula ang labanan noong Oktubre 7 ay mayroong mahigit 4,000 katao na ang nasawi at mayroong mahigit 200 na bihag ang mga Hamas militants.

INAMIN ni Matet de Leon na nagkulang siya sa paglambing noon kay Nora Aunor.

Ngayon lang kasi niya na-realize na sana’y naging mas mabuting anak siya sa kanyang inang Superstar.

“Siguro po ‘yung ipilit ko ‘yung sarili ko sa kanya. Kasi noong bata po kami, si mommy nga laging busy. So ang dating sa amin pag nasa bahay, gusto niyang magpahinga lang, hindi puwedeng maistorbo.

“But ang gusto pala ni mommy nilalambing, ang gusto niya kinukulit. So we could have done that more noong bata kami,” pahayag ni Matet. Sana raw ay naglaan sila ng oras na magkakapatid sa kanilang ina. “Siguro mas natanggal namin ang pagod niya kung hinila ko ‘yung mga kapatid ko na ‘Hali ka dali puntahan natin si mommy, i-massage natin.

“Siguro mas naging buo ‘yung relasyon namin, or mas marami akong naging memories or kami with her when we were younger,” sey ni Matet na napapanood sa GMA teleserye na ‘Love Before Sunrise’.

PUMANAW na ang dating aktres at TV host na si Jaymee Joaquin sa edad na 44 matapos ang ilang taong pakikipaglaban sa breast cancer.

Inanunsyo ito ng kanyang malapit na kaibigan na si Fides VA sa isang Facebook post noong October 18.

“Our dearest Jaymee Topacio aka Jaymee Joaquin, Jaymee Wins officially became an angel today. You’ve lived the most beautiful life, Jaymee. You will be greatly missed on this planet,” malungkot na balita ni Fides.

October 2016 nang ma-diagnose na may Stage 2A breast cancer si Jaymee.

Noong July 2017, masaya nitong ibinalita na cancer-free na siya. Pero noong March 2019, ibinahagi ni Jaymee na muling bumalik ang kanyang cancer.

Nakilala si Jaymee sa pag-host nito ng ‘Games Update Live’ (2006-2009) at sa mga shows na ‘Bora’, ‘Ligaw Na Bulaklak’, ‘Parekoy’, ‘Super Inggo’ at ‘Habang May Buhay’.

AFTER 45 years, nakipaghiwalay si Meryl Streep sa mister niyang si Don Gummer.

Ginulat ng 3-time Oscar winner ang kanyang mga tagahanga sa buong mundo sa pag-amin na six years na silang tahimik na maghiwalay ng kanyang artist-husband.

Nasa Spain si Meryl noong lumabas ang balita at ang rep nilang mag-asawa ang naglabas ng official statement nila.

“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart,” ayon sa statement ng lumabas sa PEOPLE magazine.

Sa mga nakakita sa 74-year old actress sa 2023 Princesa de Asturias Awards in Spain, suot pa rin daw nito ang kanyang wedding band.

Last September 30, the now ex-couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Huling nakitang magkasama in public si Meryl at Don ay noong 2018 sa red carpet ng Academy Awards.

Kinasal noong 1978 sina Meryl at Don at nabiyayaan sila ng apat na anak: Louisa Jacobson, 30; Grace Gummer, 37; Mamie Gummer, 40 and Henry Wolfe, 43. Meron din silang limang apo.

Huling napanood si Meryl sa season 3 ng comedy-mystery series na ‘Only Murders In The Building.’
