About “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

This all-new original, standalone action adventure was directed by George Miller, script by Miller and “Mad Max: Fury Road” co-writer Nico Lathouris. Administrasyong Marcos, pangungunahan ang jail management summit

PANGUNGUNAHAN ng gobyerno, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Korte Suprema at iba pang stakeholders ang jail decongestion summit sa Maynila.

Layon nito na makapagpalabas ng comprehensive analysis sa penal system sa bansa at tugunan ang prison congestion problem sa bansa.

Sa press briefing sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, araw ng Biyernes, sinabi ni Justice Assistance Secretary Jose Dominic Clavano na kabilang sa makikiisa sa December 6 hanggang 7 summit sa Diamond Hotel ay ang mga kinatawan mula sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Justice (DOJ), Supreme Court, at iba pang stakeholders.

“We hope that we are able to reach the mission of the jail decongestion summit with the help of course of the UNODC as well as GOJUST who will be funding the event, two-day event where we will have stakeholders, experts, and several government agencies represented,” ayon kay Clavano.

Tiniyak naman ni Clavano na dadalo si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa event kasama si Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Winika ni Clavano na mayroong panukalang aktibidad at estratehiya sa panahon ng summit. Kabilang dito ang pagbabawas sa prison admissions, itaas ang pagpapalaya sa mga preso sa oras na makompleto na ang kanilang sentensiya at palawakin ang jail facility capacity.

“So, we will have short-term goals as well as long-term goals which we hope to discuss and thoroughly analyze in the jail decongestion summit,” ayon kay Clavano sabay sabing kasama rito ang alituntunin ukol sa custodial hearings at kinakailangang piyansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng jail decongestion summit, sinabi ni Clavano na nais nilang makapagpalabas ng hakbang para bawasan ang jail admission at maging ang itaas ang pagpapalaya sa mga bilanggo, ikonsidera ang iba’t ibang klasipikasyon ng mga tinatawag na women in conflict with the law (WICL).

Sinabi pa ni Clavano na ang penal system ay “has to deal with minor offenders, sexually and physically abused women, which is in line with the government’s anti-violence against women campaign. There are also pregnant WICLs, nursing WICLs, women with disabilities and elderly female prisoners.”

Kapit-bisig naman ang Korte Suprema, DoJ, at DILG na magu-ugnayan para makalikha at makapagpalabas ng bagong alituntunin hinggil sa WICLs at manual sa kung paano haharapin ang situwasyon.

Sa kabilng dako, base sa December 2021 survey, mayroong 199,079 inmates o persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). Mayroon namang 179 PDLs sa bawat 100,000 katao sa populasyon.

Sinasabing 13,704 ng PDLs ay pawang mga kababaihan kung saan may katumbas ito na 11% ng kabuuang Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) jail population.

“Significantly, 69.51 percent of the PDLs are undergoing preventive detention, which means there has not been a decision or conviction in their cases and only 30.49 percent have been convicted and sentenced,” ang paliwanag ni Clavano.

Hawak naman ng BJMP ang mga nasa ilalim ng re-conviction, habang ang Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) ang may hurisdiksyon sa mga convicted offenders.

“Another significant statistic is that 70 percent of BJMP detention facilities are already overcrowded at an average congestion rate of 386 percent,” ayon kay Clavano.

Tinukoy naman ni Clavano ang Quezon City Male Dormitory, kung saan kinonsidera bilang pinakamataas sa larangan ng congestion rate na may 1,330%.

“Another significant factor here as to why we are holding the summit is that the BJMP facilities for female PDLs are more overcrowded than facilities for male PDLs,” dagdag na wika nito. (Daris Jose)

NOONG mag-guest si Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee sa ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, tinanong sa kanya ang final question sa Miss Universe na, “If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why?”

Sagot ni Michelle: “If I could choose to live in any woman’s shoes, it would be Apo Whang-Od. She’s an amazing symbol of cultural preservation. She’s an amazing symbol of ageism. She has been defying boundaries, stereotypes, and that is something that I have tried to inspire everybody around me as well, which is to own your unique story, own your traditions, love where you came from, love who you’re with, who you’re surrounded with. And truly, with that unique story, you can make your country proud. You can show the universe what your country has to offer. In my case, my love for my country can shake the whole universe as well.”

At sa pagbalik sa pag-arte ni Michelle, isasama na siya sa cast ng GMA Public Affairs primetime teleserye na ‘Black Rider’ na pinagbibidahan ni Ruru Madrid.

“It’s so exciting kasi makakasakay ulit ako ng motor. I think with that role I can ride motorcycles more. I’m just ultimately excited.

PAGKATAPOS ng ilang buwan na pinag-uusapan na nagkahiwalay na ang minamahal na loveteam nina Kathryn Bernardo at Daniel Padilla, nakumpirma na nga ito noong November 30.

Pareho na ngang nagsalita sina Kath at DJ at inaming hiwalay na sila kasabay ng pakiusap na irespeto muna ang kanilang privacy.

Sa mahabang Instagram post ni Kath sinimulan niya ito ng caption na, “Chapter closed. I hope this finally helps all of us move forward.

“I won’t be entertaining questions regarding this anymore. Thank you for understanding. “

“I’ve been in showbiz for almost 21 years now, 12 years as the one-half of Kathniel, and 11 years as someone who loved Deej even behind the camera.

Guarantee Letter ng DSWD, suspendido mula Disyembre 7

SUSPENDIDO pansamantala ang pagkakaloob ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ng Guarantee Letter simula Disyembre 7 hanggang 31, 2023 sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program sa lahat ng opisina ng DSWD sa buong bansa.

Ayon kay DSWD Asst Sectretary Romel Lopez, ang hakbang ay upang bigyang-daan ang annual liquidation na bahagi ng taunang fiscal obligation ng ahensiya alinsunod sa utos ng Department of Budget and Management at ng batas.

Aniya, ang suspension ay magbibigay ng sapat na oras para maayos ang kailangang mga dokumento para mabayaran ng DSWD ang mga service providers sa mga naiabot na tulong sa mga kliyenteng nakakuha ng benepisyo mula sa ahensiya sa pamamagitan ng GL.

Ang GL ay kalimitang gamit pambayad sa hospital bills at iba pa.

Gayunman, patuloy naman ang pamimigay ng DSWD ng outright cash assistance para sa mga qualified beneficiaries. Ang pagkakaloob ng GL ng DSWD ay bukas ulit sa January 2024.

Walang planong magkabugan o magsapawan: RITA, sinisiguradong magugustuhan ang mga pasabog nila sa ‘Queendom Live’

WALA raw plano na magkabugan o magsapawan ang mga reyna sa ‘Queendom: Live’ concert na gaganapin mamayang gabi, December 2, sa Newport Performing Arts Theater, 8 p.m.

Lahad ni Rita Daniela, “Siguro, I’m just really excited sa mangyayari sa Saturday.

“Sobrang marami kaming hinandang pasabog talaga.

“Definitely, sinisigurado namin na magugustuhan ito ng mga ka-AOS barkada namin, mga Kapuso, and definitely the Queenies.

‘New peace talks’ , uusad na may bago at sariwang framework agreement- Galvez

BAGO at sariwang usapang pangkapayapaan ang itutulak ngayon sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. kasama ang National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).

Tiniyak ni Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez, Jr. na hindi ito pagpapatuloy ng mga usapang pangkapayapaan na dumaan sa mga nakalipas na administrasyon.

Ani Galvez, ang “fresh set of negotiations” ay naglalayong makalikha gamit ang framework agreement at makabuo ng parametro upang makasulong ang magkabilang partido.

“Napag-agree-han po namin ay ito pong peace talk po na ito, ay ito ay bago hindi resumption,” ayon kay Galvez.

“Itong ginagawa natin na usaping ito, ito ay bago. Kasi, we have learn from the lesson of the past, na nakita natin marami pa tayong tinatawag na serial or tinatawag na mga conditions na we cannot move on the succeeding stages of the negotiation,” aniya pa rin.

“Kasi kung ang gagawin natin ay bibigyan natin kaagad ng precondition at saka gagamitin natin po iyong mga nagdaang mga kasunduan ay talaga pong hindi uusad ang usapin pong pangkapayapaan,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Samantala, kapwa naman pumayag ang pamahalaan at ang NDFP na ipagpatuloy ang peace talks para tuluyan nang matuldukan ang decades-old insurgency.

“The two parties have met informally since 2022 in the Netherlands and Norway for discussions facilitated by the Royal Norwegian Government. They reached a consensus on Nov. 23, 2023,” ayon naman sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO). (Daris Jose)

UMABOT sa 56 rehistradong mangingisdang Navoteños ang natakatanggap ng NavoBangka fiberglass boats at lambat mula kay Senator Imee R. Marcos bilang bahagi ng isang linggong pagdiriwang ng kaarawan nina Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Cong. Toby Tiangco.

Binati ni Mayor Tiangco ang mga benepisyaryo at nagpahayag ng kanyang pasasalamat sa pagsisikap ng senador.

“We recognize the hardships that our fisherfolk experience and the sacrifices they make to give their families a better life. At the same time, we are grateful to Sen. Imee for the continuous assistance she extends to Navoteños,” ani alkalde.

“We encourage everyone to make the most of this opportunity. Continue to save up for your families and strive to own more fishing boats,” dagdag niya.

Samantala, pinaalalahanan naman ni Cong. Tiangco ang mga benepisyaryo na tumulong sa pangangalaga sa kapaligiran mula sa polusyon at pagkasira.

“Most Navoteños, including us, rely on the sea for our livelihood. It’s crucial that we keep our seas and oceans free from pollution to ensure a plentiful catch,” pahayag ni Cong. Toby.

Nakatanggap ang mga benepisyaryo ng mga fiberglass boat na nilagyan ng 16-horsepower marine engine at underwater fittings, gayundin ng lambat, lubid, at fishing buoys.
