Mahigit P565-M halaga ng food packs, inihanda ng DSWD para sa epekto ng Typhoon Mawar

NAGLAAN ang DSWD ng mahigit P565 milyong halaga ng food packs sa mga rehiyonal na tanggapan nito, habang naghahanda ito sa pananalasa ng Bagyong Mawar.

Sinabi ng ahensya na nakapaghanda ito ng kabuuang 797,051 family food packs sa mga regional office nito.

Bukod dito, mayroong 110,667 family food packs sa disaster response centers nito, higit 101,000 ay nasa National Resource Operations Center sa Pasay City at mahigit 9,000 naman ang nasa Visayas Disaster Resource Center.

Kaugnay niyan, inutusan ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga regional director na makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils, at pinayuhan din ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na maghanda para sa epekto ng nasabing bagyo.

Kung matatandaan, sinabi ni Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian na ang forecast ay nagpakita na ang bagyo ay maaaring makaapekto sa Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, at sa Batanes area, kung kaya’t marami sa kanilang mga food packs ang naipon para sa nabanggit na mga lugar.

Dagdag dito, bahagyang humina ang tropical cyclone na Mawar sa isang bagyo mula sa isang super typhoon noong ngunit maaaring muling lumakas kapag nakapasok na ito sa lugar ng Pilipinas.

DBM, itinanggi na naantala ang benepisyo ng mga medical workers

PINABULAANAN ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na naantala ang pagpapalabas ng benepisyo at allowances para sa mga healthcare at non-healthcare workers.

Sa katunayan, nagpalabas ang DBM ng kabuuang P19.96 billion para pondohan ang public health emergency benefits at allowances para sa mga healthcare at non-healthcare workers.

Ayon sa DBM, gagamitin ang nasabing halaga para bayaran ang kulang o natira noong 2020 para sa Covid-19 allowance at kompensasyon ng mga health at non-healthcare workers.

“This is in accordance with the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (R.A. 11469), Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (R.A. 11494, and Public Health Emergency Benefits and Allowances for Health Care Workers Act (R.A. 11712),” ayon sa DBM.

Sa P19.96 billion na ipinalabas na pondo, sinabi ng DBM na P7.39 billion ang nagamit na ng Department of Health (DOH) “as of March 31, 2023.”

“The DBM wishes to reiterate that there is no delay in the release of the budget for the said program,” ayon sa departamento.

“The DBM remains committed to continue helping provide the support needed by our healthcare workers for their invaluable lifesaving work,” dagdag na pahayag ng DBM.

Samantala, nagpalabas naman ng paglilinaw ang DBM matapos sabihin ni Camarines Sur 2nd district Rep. LRay Villafuerte na kailangang maghanap ng paraan ang Department of Health at DBM na maipalabas ang P2 billion na naantalang health emergency allowances para sa mahigit sa 20,000 medical frontliners.

“Rest assured that we will continue to coordinate with the DOH to ensure that the released funds will be disbursed accordingly,” ayon sa DBM.

“We shall fully adhere to the marching order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to continue granting our healthcare workers the necessary compensation entitled to them,” dagdag na wika nito. (Daris Jose)

NALAMBAT ng mga operatiba ng District Intelligence Division ng Northern Police District (DID-NPD) ang isang machine operator na listed bilang most wanted sa dalawang bilang ng statutory rape sa isinagawang manhunt operation sa Malabon City.

Kinilala ni DID Chief P/Col. Alex Daniel ang naarestong akusado bilang si Jose Ryan Sarmiento, 42, machine operator ng Blk. 5 Lot 18 Champaca St., San Roque, Navotas City.

Sa kanyang ulat kay NPD Director P/BGen Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr, sinabi ni Col. Daniel na nakatanggap sila ng impormasyon na madalas umanong nakikita ang akusado sa Malabon City.

Agad bumuo ng team ang DID sa pamumuno ni P/Cpt Glenn Mark De Villa saka nagsagawa ng manhunt operation na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa akusado dakong alas-11:40 ng umaga sa 290 C. Arellano St., Brgy. Baritan, Malabon City.

Ani Cpt De Villa, ang akusado ay dinakip nila sa bisa ng warrant of arrest na inisyu ng Family Court, Branch 9 ng Navotas City, para sa kasong 2 counts ng paglabag sa Art. 266-A of the RPC as amended (Statutory Rape).

Pansamantalang nakapiit ang akusado sa Custodial Facility ng DIDMD NPD habang hinihintay ang pagpapalabas ng commitment order ng korte.

Pinuri naman ni P/MGen Edgar Alan Okubo, RD, NCRPO ang operating team sa kanilang walang tigil na manhunt operation alinsunod sa pinaigting na kampanya ng PNP laban sa mga wanted person na pinaghahanap ng batas. (Richard Mesa)

Mababasa rin ang birthday message ng Kapuso young star para sa Kapamilya singer na special na buhay niya, na nag-celebrate ng 22nd birthday.

“Happiest happiest birthday to my best friend, partner in crime, the other half of my brain and…sige na…my RM/Namjoon,” panimula ni Cassy.

Dugtong pa niya, “Thank you for sticking with me through it all and most importantly thank you for being patient with me.

PBBM, nagtalaga na ng bagong Director General ng PIA

OPISYAL nang nagtalaga si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng bagong Director General ng Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Sa inilabas na mga bagong appointee Ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) kasama si Jose Torres Jr sa mga newly appointed officials na kung saan, siya ay itatalaga sa PIA bilang Dir Gen.

Si Torres ang papalit sa iniwang puwesto ni Mon Cualoping na una ng naghain ng kanyang letter of resignation noong Abril 4.

Si Torres ay editor-at-large ng Catholic Asian news site na LiCAS.news at editorial consultant ng Radio Veritas Asia.

“CLOUT Chaser” at “User” ang ilan sa mga salitang mababasa sa mga comments patungkol kay Jason Marvin.

Ang ex-husband ni Moira dela Torre, though, technically, mag-asawa pa rin sila dahil hindi pa naman sila annulled.

In bad taste ang kinalabasan ng music video ni Jason sa bago niyang single na “Ikaw Pa Rin.” Hindi ito nagustuhan ng karamihan. Sa halip na sympathy kung totoo man na until now, hindi pa siya nakaka-move on daw sa paghihiwalay nila and that si Moira talaga ang gusto niya, hindi ito nakatawid sa mga nakapanood.

Wala yatang nagkagusto na ginamit pa niya sa video ang kuha noong kasal nila. Isa na nga sa nag-react ng husto rito ay ang nakababatang kapatid ni Moira.

Sunod-sunod ang tweet nito at sinabihan si Jason na ni wala nga raw itong effort the whole year, paanong namimiss at naghihintay na sila pa rin. Sinabihan din sa paggamit ng video ng kasal na walang pahintulot daw ng ate niya.

Ang siste, sumagot din si Jason sa tweet na ito ng kapatid ni Moira.

IPINASILIP ni Ryza Cenon ang ipinapagawang bahay.

Sa Taytay, Rizal ang location ng bahay na pinagagawa nila. Ang kuwento ni Ryza, nabili niya ang lupa noon at ang ama ng anak naman niya ang tila in-charge sa pagpapagawa na ng magiging family house nila.

Maganda ang location ng bahay nila base sa ipinost ni Ryza dahil corner lot itong talaga sa isang subdivision at ang laki. Sa ngayon, isa pa lang naman ang baby nila, si Night Cruz and every time na natatanong ito kung kailan nila planong magpakasal, very vocal naman si Ryza sa pagsasabing hindi ito ang priority nila sa ngayon.

Mas gusto nilang mapalaki ng maayos ang anak at masiguradong ready na talaga sila kapag nagdesisyon silang magpakasal.

Una silang nagkasama sa isang teleserye noong 2002, ang “Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga.” Nasundan ito ng “Endless Love” in 2010, kasama nila si Marian Rivera.

“THE WANDERING EARTH II” IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR HONG KONG MEGASTAR ANDY LAU

THE box-office and critical success of the futuristic blockbuster “The Wandering Earth” has attracted big talents to join the follow-up film.

In “The Wandering Earth II,” a prequel to the 2019 hit, one of Hong Kong’s biggest artists, Andy Lau (“As Tears Go By,” “House of Flying Daggers,” “Infernal Affairs”), is playing a scientist. Just as the film’s creative team is happy to have Lau on board, Lau couldn’t be more elated. “My sci-fi dream is fulfilled,” Lau shared at the press conference for “The Wandering Earth II,” in Philippine cinemas May 31. “And I still feel immersed in the character today and don’t want to wake up.”

As exciting as it was to star in the prequel to the groundbreaking Chinese science fiction film, it also had its challenges, particularly when it came to wearing his spacesuit costume. “Putting on the suit makes it difficult to turn around or even twist (my body),” he also shared at the press conference. “The most unbearable part is I have no way to scratch where it itches. I stuck duct tape on the inside of my helmet, so I could relieve the urges by rubbing my face against the tape.”

Spacesuits, Earth engines, and mind-blowing science aside, the film’s set had an easy and friendly family atmosphere. “During the filming, I could feel the extraordinary cohesion of the crew. All of us are exploring and climbing this peak called science fiction film,” veteran Chinese actor Li Xuejian said.

In “The Wandering Earth II,” after learning that the sun is rapidly burning out and will obliterate Earth in the process, humans build enormous engines to propel the planet to a new solar system, far out of reach of the sun’s fiery flares. However, the journey out into the universe is perilous, and humankind’s last shot at survival will depend on a group of young people brave enough to step up and execute a dangerous, life-or-death operation to save the earth. The film, to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures exclusively in cinemas in the Philippines, also stars global action icon Wu Jing, who headlined the first film.

“With my wife’s support, I starred in the first ‘The Wandering Earth,’ trying to plant a seed of imagination for children,” said Jing. “This time in the film, many things have upgraded. The seed we planted has grown big and is actively sprouting. I feel so accomplished.”

“The Wandering Earth II,” released in China and the U.S. in January in time for the Chinese New Year, has earned USD 604 million, making it so far the third highest-grossing movie of the year in terms of box-office numbers.

Directed by Frant Gwo, with a screenplay by Frant Gwo and Gong Ge’er, “The Wandering Earth II” (a prequel to the 2019 futuristic blockbuster “The Wandering Earth”) is based on the book by Liu Cixin.

The film stars Andy Lau, Wu Jing, Li Xuejian, Sha Yi, Ning Li, Wang Zhi and Zhu Yanmanzi.

Anak ni Enrile, itinalaga ni PBBM bilang CEZA head

ITINALAGA ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang negosyanteng si Katrina Gloria Ponce Enrile, anak na babae ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, bilang administrator at chief executive officer (CEO) ng Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA).

Ang posisyon ni Katrina ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO) ay Cabinet rank.

Si Katrina ay pangulo at CEO ng JAKA Investments Corporation, at nasa likod ng corned beef brand na Delimondo.

Sa social media post, pinasalamatan naman ni Katrina si Pangulong Marcos sa tiwala nito sa kanya sabay sabing siya ay “beyond grateful” sa pagkakatalaga sa kanya.

Ang CEZA ay nilikha sa bisa ng Cagayan Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, na awtorisado ng matandang Enrile, noong siya ay senador pa lamang.

Tungkulin ng government corporation na i-manage at pangasiwaan ang progreso ng Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport. (Daris Jose)
