Worried din si Sharon sa second child nilang si Miel dahil best friend nito ang Ate Kakie niya, at sa almost two years ng pandemic, lalong naging close ang dalawa, unbreakable ang bond nilang dalawa.

“As for me, the silence in our home now is deafening. Last night during Kiko’s birthday dinner, I couldn’t really eat… and pretty soon, we were all shedding tears. I love you very much, my Baba…Take care of yourself. God bless you and keep you safe, my good girl.”

NAKATATANGGAP ng bashings si Tom Rodriguez mula sa mga fans ni Alden Richards sa GMA romantic-drama series nilang The World Between Us.

Kahit si Tom ay nagugulat din sa role ni Brian, na ang sama-sama ng pakikitungo kay Louie (Alden). First time daw niyang gumanap ng ganitong role kaya nang unang i-offer sa kanya, ay hindi niya ito tinanggihan, gusto raw naman niyang gumanap ng bad character sa isang project.

“Pero inaapi ko man si Alden sa harap ng camera, off-camera ay lalo pang lumalim ang aming pagkakaibigan dahil sa serye namin,” wika ni Tom.

“Very sincere person ni Alden, masipag, a very dedicated person to his craft, and at the same time, ramdam mo yung puso niya, hindi lamang sa mga kakilala niya kung hindi sa mga taga suporta rin niya.”

Naka-season break ngayon ang kanilang series kaya pahinga muna si Tom bago sila muling bumalik sa lock-in taping.

Iyon nga lamang miss na miss na niya ang magiging misis niya, si Carla Abellana. Salisi na naman daw kasi sila ng schedule ni Carla.

Dapat daw ay matatapos na siya sa serye ng September 6 at si Carla naman ay tapos na ng lock-in taping ng To Have and To Hold with Max Collins at Rocco Nacino ng September 3, kaya finally ay magkikita na sana sila at mas matutukan nila nang sabay ang wedding preparations nila dahil nagkaroon ng changes sa mga unang plano nila.

Isa rito ay baka hindi na matuloy umuwi ang family niya sa bansa dahil nga sa muling surge ng Covid-19 at Delta virus, ayaw raw niyang i-risk ang safety nila sa pagdalo nila sa wedding.

Pero hopefully, tapos na sila sa taping ng TWBU sa wedding nila ni Carla sa October 23, sa Madre de Dios Chapel sa Tagaytay Midlands sa Tagaytay Highlands.

Today, August 27, mapapanood ang last episode ng The World Between Us bago magsimula ang kanilang season break, after ng 24 Oras sa GMA-7.

Duterte-Duterte ticket sa Eleksyon 2022, walang pag-asa- Sec. Roque

WALANG pag-asa na magkaroon ng Duterte-Duterte ticket sa Eleksyon 2022.

Ito ang inihayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque kung pagbabasehan ang sinabi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na ‘out’ na sila ni Senador Bong Go kapag nagdesisyon ang kanyang anak na si Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio na tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo sa halalan sa susunod na taon.

“Well, unang una, I will quote the words of the President, dahil sinulat ko po ‘yan as he was speaking, I quote, “Kung tatakbo si Mayor Sara, Bong will not run for president. If Sara runs, out na rin ako because of this delicadeza. Hindi pupuwedeng dalawa kami diyan. So iyon po ang mga binanggit na salita ni Presidente. Iyong ipinakita po [kagabi] ay kung hindi nga tatakbo si Mayor Sara. But I think ang naging mensahe ng Presidente, it’s the call of Mayor Sara Duterte, if she runs, then Sen. Bong Go and he will not run,” litanya ni Sec. Roque.

At sa tanong kung kailan malalaman ang pinal na posisyon ng Pangulo sa usaping ito ay sinabi ni Sec. Roqu na depende na iyon kay Mayor Sara.

“But in the words of the President, if Mayor Sara decides to run, then she will be the candidate. At dahil nga po sa delicadeza, wala pong pag-asa ang Duterte-Duterte ticket,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, tiniyak naman ni Sec. Roque na hindi makaaapekto ang mga election issues sa COVID-19 response ng pamahalaan.

Sa katunayan aniya ay tuloy-tuloy ang ginagawang pagbabakuna ng gobyerno.

Bukod pa sa tuloy-tuloy pa rin aniya ang pag-eengganyo ng pamahalaan sa lahat ng mga mamamayang filipino na “mag-prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, and reintegration.”

” So ibig sabihin po, bagama’t hindi natin mapo-postpone ang eleksyon dahil iyan po ay nakaukit sa Saligang Batas, tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ang ating COVID-19 responses. KINUMPIRMA at nagbigay linaw ang Malakanyang sa naging pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa kanyang Talk to the People kagabi na kung tatakbo si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte ay hindi siya tatakbo bilang bise-presidente sa Eleksyon 2022.

“Lilinawin ko lang po na kagabi nagsalita ang presidente ang sabi niya kung tatakbo si Mayor Sara Duterte, out siya at out din po si Senator Bong Go,” ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

“If I were to quote him, “Should Sara decide to run, Bong Go is out. For my part, dahil delicadeza, hindi po puwede dalawa kami diyan, if she runs, out na rin ako, so ‘yun po ang sinabi niya,” dagdag na pahayag ni Sec. Roque.

Malinaw na sinabi ng Pangulo na kung hindi tatakbo si Mayor Sara sa pagka-pangulo ay tatakbo siya bilang bise-presidente.

“Pero ang talagang sagot po ay, tatakbo ba siya bilang vice president? ang sagot ay hindi kung tatakbo po si Mayor sara duterte sa pagka presidente. Tatakbo siya kung hindi tatakbo si Mayor Sara,” aniya pa rin.

Ang katwiran ng Pangulo sa bagay na ito ay “por delicadeza”.

Hindi puwedeng dalawa silang Duterte na tatakbo sa halalan sa susunod na taon.

Samantala, sigurado naman si Sec. Roque na pag-uusapang mabuti ng ruling party PDP-Laban ang bagay na ito.

Duque tiniyak kay Pangulong Duterte, maipamamahagi ang SRA at kompensasyon sa mga health workers sa Agosto 31

TINIYAK ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na maipamamahagi na ang special risk allowance at kompensasyon para sa mga health workers sa darating na Agosto 31.

Noong nakaraang linggo kasi ay binigyan ni Pangulong Duterte ng 10 araw na palugit ang Department of Health (DOH) at Department of Budget and Management para bayaran ang lahat ng naantalang benepisyo ng mga health workers.

Ayon sa Pangulo, gamitin na ng DOH at DBM ang ano mang natitirang pera at ibayad sa mga health workers.

“Within your prescribed deadline of 10 days, DBM will release the SARO (Special Allotment Release Order) tomorrow. We’ve been following it up to them and also the contingent fund… We are committed to deliver it in the said time frame you indicated,” ang naging pahayag naman ni Duque sa Talk to the People ni Pangulong Duterte, Martes ng gabi.

Kaugnay nito, kinumpirma ni Senador Christopher Bong Go na na-release na ang P311 million para sa Special Risk Allowance ng mga healthcare workers.

Sinabi ni Go na inatasan na rin ni Pangulong Duterte ang DBM at Executive Department na agad na mag-release ng pondo kapag hindi pa rin ito sapat.

Binigyang diin ni Go na maliit na halaga lang ang nasabing halaga kung ikukumpara sa sakripisyo ng mga health workers bagama’t walang katumbas na pera ang ginagawang serbisyo ng mga ito sa bayan.

Ayon kay Go, entitled sa SRA ang mga health workers na nakatoka sa mga COVID-19 patients at response.

Hinimok naman ni Go ang DOH na bilisan na ang proseso para makatutok na sa kanilang trabaho kasabay ng paghimok sa Senado na madaliin din ang pagdinig sa mga isyu na sangkot ang DOH para makatutok na ang mga tauhan at opisyal nito sa kanilang mandato sa bayan.

Sa ulat, tinatayang nasa P311 million ang hinihingi ng DOH para sa 20,156 health workers.

Ayon naman sa DBM, may mga nakikita nang pagkukuhanan ng pondo para rito.

‘Yung para doon sa government healthcare workers kukunin ‘yun sa isang special purpose fund… Ang tawag diyan eh miscellaneous personnel benefits fund…. Ang medyo may issue lang ‘yung para du’n sa galing sa private hospitals… Within the 10 day period mare-release ‘yon pero optimistic ako na within this week,” sabi ni DBM OIC Undersecretary Tina Canda.

Noong Lunes, ipinaliwanag ng DOH-NCR ang guidelines sa COVID-19 benefits.

Ang special risk allowance (SRA) halimbawa, para lang sa mga naka-assign sa COVID-19 hospitals at facilities.

Ang COVID-19 compensation ay para lang sa mga symptomatic na nagkasakit sa trabaho.

Habang ang meals, accommodation at transportation allowance, makukuha lang kung hindi ito kayang ibigay ng isang pasilidad.

Nagbigay din ng August 26 na deadline sa mga ospital para sa pagsusumite ng listahan ng eligible health workers.

Nauna na ring sinabi ng Private Hospitals Association na marami sa kanila ang matagal nang nakapagsumite ng mga requirements pero sadyang napakabagal ng proseso ng DOH.

Nagbabanta ng malaking protesta ang mga health workers kapag hindi naibigay ang kanilang benepisyo sa September 1.

Bagama’t nakikiusap ang Palasyo na huwag ituloy ito, hindi na rin daw mapipigilan kung maraming mag-resign dahil labis na ang pagkadismaya sa kanilang kalagayan. (Daris Jose)

DALAWANG hinihinalang tulak ng illegal na droga ang natimbog sa isinagawang magkahiwalay na buy-bust operation ng pulisya sa Navotas at Valenzuela Cities.

Ayon kay Navotas police chief Col. Dexter Ollaging, dakong alas-9 ng gabi nang magsagawa ang mga operatiba ng Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) sa pangunguna ni PLT Genere Sanchez ng buy-bust operation sa Apahap St., Brgy. NBBS Kaunlaran.

Matapos tanggapin ni Dennis Alvarez alyas “Dinay”, 50, (pusher/listed) ang P500 marked money mula sa isang pulis na nagpanggap na poseur-buyer kapalit ng isang sachet ng shabu ay agad siyang sinunggaban ng mga operatiba.

Nakumpiska kay Alvarez ang humigit-kumulang sa 8.5 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may corresponding standard drug price (SDP) Php 57,800.00 at buy-bust money.

Sa Valenzuela, alas-9:45 ng gabi nang maaresto din ng mga operatiba ng SDEU ng Valenzuela police sa pangunguna ni PLT Joel Madregalejo si Jerome Alonde, 29 ng Purok 4, Orosco St., Brgy. Mapulang Lupa matapos bentahan ng P500 halaga ng shabu si PCpl Maverick Jake Perez na nagpanggap na poseur-buyer sa buy-bust operation sa Sapa St. Bisalao, Brgy. Bagbaguin.

Ani SDEU investigator PCpl Pamela Joy Catalla , nasamsam kay Alonde ang humigit-kumulang sa 3 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may standard drug price Php 20,400.00, buy-bust money, P200 cash at coin purse.

Nahaharap ang mga suspek sa kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

DINGDONG at MARIAN, kinumpirma na tuloy na ang bagong project sa GMA na malamang na isang sitcom

KINUMPIRMA na ng Kapuso Primetime Queen na si Marian Rivera, gayundin naman ang Kapuso Primetime King na si Dingdong Dantes na may gagawin na nga silang bagong proyekto sa GMA-7.

Kinumpirma nila ito sa naganap na GMA Pinoy TV Fun Con. Isang bonggang “Yes!” ang sagot ni Marian nang tanungin sila kung totoong magtatambal na silang muling mag-asawa.

Sinegundahan din naman ito ni Dingdong.

Wala pang detalye sa kung anong proyektong pagsasamahan nila, though, hindi na kami magtataka kung isang sitcom ito.

Siyempre, excited na ang mga DongYan fans lalo na nga at matagal na silang hindi napapanood magkasama. At si Marian ay hindi rin tumanggap ng any acting job simula pandemic.

Although, in fairness sa dalawa na kahit replay na at matagal na ang Endless Love, isa pa rin ito sa may mataas na ratings sa primetime ng Kapuso network.

DAHIL daw sa pandemic, may mga nari-realize talaga si Kim Chiu sa mga bagay-bagay.

Sa mahabang Instagram post niya, shinare niya ang isang pangyayari na namatay ang mag-ina at hindi halos nagagamit ng ina ang signature bag na niregalo rito ng asawa nito.

Then he saw the beautiful porcelain collection on the wine cabinet, and the wife told the husband I would wait for a special occasion for me to use this. But that day never came.

“I realized that nowadays, with everything that is going on right now. Let us not wait for that special day to come. Let’s treat EVERYDAY AS A SPECIAL DAY because we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, the day after, or weeks, months, etc. Life should be an experience we cherish and not a life that we must live by. Don’t save good things for special days anymore. Every day you live is a special day. Let’s not wait for tomorrow, whatever it is that you feel like doing, do it now.”

James Bond’s Stolen Aston Martin Car, Found 25 Years After Its Disappearance

James Bond‘s iconic stolen car has reportedly been found 25 years after its disappearance.

The secret agent was first seen driving the Aston Martin DB5 in 1964 during the franchise’s third film, Goldfinger. Although Bond creator Ian Fleming imagined his character driving a DB Mark III by the company, the film’s special effects expert John Stears convinced Aston Martin to let the team use a DB5 prototype.

Sean Connery sat in the driver’s seat as the fictional MI6 agent, utilizing the specially-equipped vehicle’s various weapons and gadgets to complete his missions. Goldfinger began a long love affair between Bond and Aston Martin.

Over the course of Bond history, 007 has become almost synonymous with the luxury British car. The exact same one was used in the next film, Thunderball, and various versions of the sports car were featured in the franchise afterwards. One of the four original gadget-filled Aston Martins was sold at auction in 1986 to real estate mogul Anthony Pugliese for $275,000.

But in 1997, the prized prop vanished without a trace from its storage hangar at Boca Raton airport in Florida. At the time, the car was insured for a whopping $4.2 million.

Now, 25 years after the Aston Martin’s disappearance, The Telegraph reports that the original car has been found. The VIN number of a recently spotted DB5 matches that of the stolen car seen in the Bond film. Investigators believe that the iconic Aston Martin is a part of a private collection somewhere in the Middle East. This rare model is reportedly worth £18.2 million, or roughly $25 million.

Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 is considered to be one of the most famous cars in the world. What’s more, the original model used in the film should still be tricked out with all of the bells and whistles, including various weapons, tire shredders, a bulletproof windshield, smoke distributors, and the agent’s landmark ejector seat. The only other remaining original Aston Martin DB5 used in filming was sold at an auction in 2010 for $4.6 million.

Although the James Bond and Aston Martin have entered a more promotional relationship in recent years, the spy’s original ride is much more than a car. The Aston Martin has become a beloved and consistent character in the 007 universe, spawning toy replicas and even limited edition reproductions from the manufacturer.

Though other models have raced onto the screen in the Bond franchise, the DB5 will always be a fan favorite. It has appeared in not only Goldfinger and Thunderball, but also Goldeneye, Casino Royale and Skyfall.

A reproduction of the car will next appear in the highly-anticipated Bond film No Time to Die, starring Daniel Craig and will hopefully stay in safe hands this time around.

Anyway, No Time To Die will complete Bond’s emotional arc that began in Casino Royale and that serialization has been a key factor in the success of Craig’s films,

With No Time To Die facing multiple delays over the last year and a half, anticipation for the film has stayed steady, both because any Bond film is cause for celebration and because it will be Craig’s last go in the role, showing worldwide on October 8, 2021.

Some speculate that James Bond could die in the upcoming film, a fitting end for what has been one of the most successful runs of the franchise yet. Still, many are already looking to the future after No Time To Die, wondering who could take over the role and whether or not they’ll be able to live up to Craig’s performance.

COVID-19 cases sa Metro Manila, posibleng umakyat sa 60K kada araw – OCTA

Muling nagpalabas ng panibagong babala ang OCTA Research Group kahapon sa pagsasabing maaaring umabot sa 60,000 ang arawang bilang ng aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila lamang sa pagtatapos ng Setyembre.

“Ang nakikita natin ay ‘yung active cases natin maaaring umabot ng 60,000. Baka 70,000 mataas na ‘yan,” ayon kay Dr. Guido David, miyembro OCTA Research.

Sinabi rin ni Guido na hindi pa tapos ang patuloy na pagtaas ng mga bagong kaso. Maaaring maganap ang ‘surge’ nito sa kalagitnaan pa ng Setyembre kung magpapatuloy ang trend ng mga naitatalang bagong kaso ngayon.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa 1.64 ang reproduction rate ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila. Upang masabing bumababa na ang hawahan, kailangang maibaba ito sa 1.0.

Nitong Agosto 22, nakapagtala ng 36,054 aktibong kaso sa Metro Manila.

Nagkaroon naman umano ng magandang pagbabago sa sitwasyon ng Metro Manila sa pagsunod sa protocols at polisiya sa loob ng dalawang linggong ECQ ngunit hindi dapat magpakampante dahil sa presensya ng Delta variant.

Movie nina Daniel at Charo, nagwagi ng ‘Youth Jury Prize’ sa 74th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland

NAGWAGI na naman ang Globe Studios ng another prestigious international award dahil ang movie na Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine) ang nanalo ng Cinema e Gioventu Prize (Youth Jury Prize) in the recent 74th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Produced alongside local production houses Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire, Quantum Films, iWanTFC, Dreamscape, Blacksheep, CBM Films, and international partners AAND Company (Singapore), KawanKawan Media (Indonesia), Weydemann Bros. (Germany), ang Whether the Weather is Fine ay ang nag-iisang Philippine film na napili para mag-compete sa Locarno Festival’s Concorso Cineasti del Presente (Filmmakers of the Present Competition). The festival is known for highlighting works from up and coming directors around the world.

Pinagbibidahan ito nina Daniel Padilla, Rans Rifol, at si Ms. Charo Santos-Concio, the film focuses on the story of a young man fighting to survive while searching desperately for missing loved ones.

Base ito sa personal na naranasan ng direktor na si Carlo Manatad mula sa aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda, na isa sa most powerful typhoons in history which devastated coastal regions in the Central Philippines eight years ago.

“The Cinema e Gioventu Award means a lot for me as a young filmmaker. As someone who just started delving into feature filmmaking, cinema for me, has always been a medium that transcends national and cultural boundaries. I am humbled and excited by this recognition and will continue to work hard in giving a voice to my fellow Filipinos through stories that have yet to be told,” pahayag ni Direk Manatad.

Ang Whether the Weather is Fine ay ang nag-iisang Pinoy film na invited to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year. It will be featured from September 9-18, 2021, under the Contemporary World Cinema section.

“Globe Studios plays a role in telling the stories of ordinary Filipinos. We fund and produce films that we see would allow audiences, local and foreign, to better appreciate our unique culture,” sabi ni Quark Henares, Head of Globe Studios.

Dagdag pa niya, “The film project (Whether the Weather is Fine) was already greenlit when I came into Globe Studios and even then, I knew it was a great story to tell — one that would not only enlighten its audiences, but also inspire the Filipinos amid these trying times.“

Naniniwala rin si Henares sa creative partnership between co-writer Gian Abraham, director Carlo Manatad, producer Armi Cacanindin, and executive producer Atty. Jojie Alonso integral to the final cut of the story.

Another short film by Manatad na co-produced ng Globe Studios ang The Imminent Immanent, na nag-world premiere din in TIFF noong 2018. A year before, Manatad’s Jodilerks dela Cruz, Employee of the Year, was also presented at the same venue.

Globe Studios is an entertainment production company that tells stories through silver screens, black boxes, and handheld devices since 2016. It prides itself on being creator-focused and bold with its content with films like LSS, Hintayin ng Langit, and the first Filipino Netflix film Dead Kids. ‘Wag ninyo akong gawing punching bag! – Sara

Binanatan ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte si Senator Koko Pimentel at Ronwald Musayac, executive director ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), dahil sa diumano’y paninisi sa kanya sa pagkakawatak ng partido.

Sinabi ni Sara na hindi siya isang ‘Last Two Minutes’ person at hindi siya papayag na maging isang political punching bag ng isang magulong partido.

“I am not a “Last two minutes” person I think, I organize and implement accor-dingly. In the meantime, I refuse to be a political punching bag for a party in complete disarray”, pahayag ng presidential daughter.

Sa statement ni Sara, sinabi nito na mismong si Duterte ang nagkumpirma sa kanya na tatakbo itong bise presidente samantalang si Go ang tatakbong presidente.

Sinabi ni Sara na dapat tigilan na ang paggamit sa kanyang pangalan at isangkalan upang hindi kumandidato sina Duterte at Go.

“I strongly suggest to the President and Senator Go to own up publicly their decision to run as a tandem. If they can confirm it privately, then I do not see the reason why they cannot be candid about it to the public,” ani Sara.

Inamin din ni Sara na nakatanggap sila ng dalawang sulat mula sa Presidente kung saan sa una ay hiniling nito na iindorso ang Go-Duterte tandem at ang pangalawa ay nagsusulong na kumandidato siyang presidente ka-tandem si Go.

Iginiit ni Sara na dapat ay tigilan na siya at iprisinta na lang sa publiko kung papaano sila makakatulong sa mga mamamayan. (Daris Jose)
